TOPIC | Any Games like FR?
I'd love a game like flight rising that includes breeding stats/traits that doesn't take IRL DAYS/MONTHS to actually get anything done

That's the main reason I rarely end up returning to sites like FR/Lioden/Pokefarm Q/Dragon cave/Wajas/Ovipets

Throwing in the games I've found

Koi Farm: Cheap game and relaxing at that, perfect background noise, you can find it on steam, you breed koi's for unique patterns and different colors, simple, nothing fancy.

Niche - A genetics survival game: Another game that does cost, you can find it on steam, it's a game about breeding weird little creatures while traveling through islands to pick up new genes to slowly adapt to your environment, all while you attempt to keep your tribe alive & avoiding perishing to natural selection.

And the others I've found unfortunately are 18+ so there's absolutely no mentioning those.

But maybe there's gems that I might've missed?

Check out my new group RP!
@Insidiously
Those are games that take a lot of IRL time for something to age
Chicken Smoothie doesn't have breeding
and Howrse is awfully pay to win these days.
Felisfire I've already looked at, and while it's art is beautiful it's awful inactive.

Herd of Hounds. It IS time-based as you have a certain amount of turns per in-game day, and unless you buy premium currency you only have so many days in an IRL day (I think there's something like a 2h cooldown between days with a few free refreshes per IRL day).

Still, it's considerably faster than FR. You can get through a couple of generations in one day if you time it right.

I have a few suggestions that might fit:
  • Zen Koi - Pretty active discord with tons of fish to collect and breed. There are rare patterns, common patterns, and exclusive patterns that must be unlocked using in game currency. You can breed or ascend as much as you want within the day, and the game has subtle genetics. However, there are hatch timers based on the breed rarity that slowly scale. Free on both iOS and Android.
  • Petz Catz/Dogz 4 - These games came out in 1999 for the PC and are still playable today. Both games have a fairly active community that hosts dog shows, creates fan websites, and showcases their custom lineages or challenges in forum posts. No limit on breeding, has hybridization and genetics. Free since it’s abandonware solely maintained by the community.
  • 4dopt - I wasn’t a personal fan of this site but it’s biggest strength is that it’s made for artists, by artists. Everything is, as the name suggests, adoptable focused with very little timers or gates in the way of progress. You can collect as many creatures as you want, breed them as much as you want, and even customize there colors to breed down prettier patterns. Free web game similar to FR.

I can’t think of anything else off the top of my head…

1) I recommend Goatlings! You don't breed your goats, but you battle and train while collecting new goats and other items! Plus, you have a customizable human avatar that you can get apparel for. (I'm GuardianSEG on there if you want to add me or use me as a referral!)

2) Also, a new game that's going up on Kickstarter soon is Paw Borough. It looks like it'll be super similar to FR, but with cats. I'm working on a color guide!

I remember watching someone play a game called Wobbledogs. It had a breeding mechanic and genetics, I think? It’s not really realistic, though, and has a cartoony art style.

I am going to try remember koi farm, it looks cute and I am currently hyper-fixated on fish haha

idk if I have any recommendations myself.
All I can think of is Pixel's cat end which has longer breeding cooldowns than flight rising.

maybe the sims pets pack? I know it has a genetic side to it and doesn't take too much irl time to make progress.
