nintendogs is a really wholesome game, I recently bought a copy of original nintendogs lab and friends version and it was really cute. Does anyone even remembers this game series at all?
And if yes are your nintendogs still alive?

I bought it when it first came out! I remember it being very cute but not a ton of content and lots of repetition so it got boring fairly quickly. I got that shower cap frisbee and the mario kart RC car though!

I have like 4 different versions of the game.
I don't really play on my DS anymore, but I still have the pups I had when I first played the game. It was pretty fun, but I also hate how quickly it could make you feel so sad if you wanted to send a dog to the kennel to get a different one out. D:
I think what I miss most is taking my virtual pups on walks, that was my favourite part!
Edit: Also I'm pretty sure they don't just "die," the world is just kind of on pause until you come back.

KnucklePuck Oh, makes sense. How sad a kid would be if their puppy would die in nintendogs, its kinda for the better that they don't die.

ooo yes! i still have my game/3ds so technically i could play rn if i want, but i haven’t in a long while since there isn’t much to do. it’s the one with cats, which i have 3 of, as well as 3 dogs! (who if i remember right are all shelties for some reason, oops. want more variety but don’t want to get rid of any I have)
i remember before my first dog and i got good at frisbee contests, i saved up for my first cat by taking my dog for a walk with the pedometer thing, close the 3ds and shake it around until it thought i’d been walking a lot... and then collect my dog biscuit prizes and sell them all for 1 coin each, repeat until i could afford a cat, lol.
oh, and a switch game would be so cool! probably wouldn’t play unless my little brother got it and it could save multiple games, since it’s too repetitive to want it for myself, but i’d be glad it exists anyway for the people who would. it’d be really cute with the new graphics!

I am very grateful that they can't die, otherwise I would feel a massive amount of guilt. Also, at least with the original, putting the cartridge in a different DS will reset their stats to 'kind of hungry', at the cost of activating the walk cooldown.
I have one of the original Nintendogs games (can't remember which), and Nintendogs + Cats french bulldog, I think. My brother reset the +Cats because I hadn't played it in so long, though, so now I only see those pets on walks.
Never figured out how to do Obedience Trials. I don't think I was very good with the voice commands. I am pretty sure however, that I collected at least one of everything that could be bought or found in a single version, excluding dogs. I think I started losing interest once I'd unlocked everything and started running out of challenges.
I can't find anything on an official Switch sequel, but there's this third-party game called Little Friends: Dogs & Cats which seems to be fairly close. Kind of strange that there was only one sequel, considering Wikipedia says it was one of the highest-selling DS games.

One of my first DS games! I was actually on holiday in America at the time they came out, so I got the Labrador edition while there, then when the Dalmatian edition came out here, I got that, too.
I actually got kinda nostalgic for it just the other day and got them out to play. Still got a lot of old dogs, a few of which are over a decade old at this point!

*Looks at lair* Ah yes. Organised chaos.
I still play it, and my Lassie has won many disk competitions, so he gets a special pair of sunglasses.
this game was my childhood!! i still own a physical copy of labrador & friends and the one for the 3ds ;v; maybe one of these days i'll replay it again,, i remember training my puppies for the agility trials for hours on end, best way to earn money in-game pff
