Finally, my people, lol
I don't own any domestic birds, but if I did I think I'd like a dove or a cockatiel. Mostly my interactions with birds come from observing wild birds. In my family and friend group I'm known as the person who always knows the names of all the birds outside :P

I've rescued two birds before! :)
Both were Northern Mockingbirds that were very small when I rescued them.
Salt fell out of a tree after a storm and the mother bird could not get her back into the nest. She would have died, but I was on a walk with some friends and we took her back to my house. We fed her insects like meal worms and sometimes an actual worm if we could catch one. Salt was a sweetie and loved to poop in everyone's hair, except for mine and my grandmother's. She lived in the large bush outside out house when we set him free for at least a good year before disappearing. My friends say she probably got eaten, but I like to think that she went off with a mate to have a family somewhere else.
Pepper came several years later, and he also fell out of his tree. This time my grandmother found him on her own walk. He had a huge personality and was mostly a brat. He loved to destroy the toys we gave him and made a racket when we didn't give him attention. I specifically remember a time where he attacked my rabbit and stole the piece of dried grass that my rabbit was eating and try to eat it himself. He ended up throwing the grass up on the couch. Sadly, Pepper died before he got old enough to be set free and we buried him near the tree where he was found. Rest in peace, Pepper. <3
Sorry about that rant! I just had to put that down somewhere~

Haha, I once rescued a thrush early this year, he fell out of the brush beside the midget coops and house. She/he was flipped on its back unmoving, and it was after a storm, and still sprinkling, so we took it inside. (We checked for nests, found one, but it was empty, and no sign of the parents)
Fast forward, and we got it to fly and he actually decided to sleep in the trees once. Eventually, he flew off over vacation. Which there is a family of thrushes near the house so it may be living with them
