I just think people should wait it out. You can’t be blamed for waiting to buy or play something if you don’t like the current state of things.
It’s been very highly recommended from both ends to wait. While the megamap is coming out soon, still waiting to see when the animator gets hired on. (People have speculated that the animator won’t be willing to get hired due to drama, but just about every game has drama, so it’s not really too different from other games. Plus, money is money. Freelancers have a tendency to accept what they get offered with variation.). After which, the placeholders will get replaced with the custom models.
Games don’t get made overnight, so this is no exception.

And just a tid bit of info, Jao left the official DoD Discord server to focus on making the game. Even after leaving, some people think he’s weak to have left, but most agree that him stepping away from social media to focus on the game was a very good decision.
The Discord server also did get redone as a result of Jao having handed over ownership.
