It's a hard knock life in the furry fandom if your fursona/favorite character isn't a canine or maybe feline. Not all artists want to draw something they're unfamiliar with, and merch mostly sports four legged canines and little else.

I don't have a picture of my fursona, but she's a dragon named Echo. My 'scalesona' is a Velociraptor Mongolensis! Her design's very basic, but that just relates more to how I prefer to keep my looks: simple! [center]Mine is actually a completely made up species created by me called a "Zynath." They're a genderless species and they produce through slime they create out of an organ (like a gizzard) and one of the ingredients is dew. I have a cockatiel fursona! I don't have a good ref of him but he's got a computer for a brain!

I’m glad other furries are tired of canines and felines. If you feel that’s what best represents you, great, but there’s a whole animal kingdom out there. Although I don’t mind these species if they’re creative hybrids or some other original twist is put on them

The closest thing I have to a fursona rn is a sort of cat/raptor hybrid or a “gryphonoid” (for lack of a better word) macaw/cat hybrid, although I’ve also thrown around the ideas of an ostrich and a Maiasaura. If Pokésonas count, mine would be either a Skitty or a Meganium.

[img]https://i.imgur.com/VleLcU0.png[/img] DOES A RACCOON COUNT AS 'not popular'? although that concept is kinda unfriendly...I mean fursonas that are uncommon animals are really cool but like fursonas are also really personal to someone, they might have chosen a cat or dog for a personal reason outside of 'because it's popular' and this kinda makes it sound like a bad thing...IDK I'm just not a fan of the wording...ALL fursonas are good! YOU'RE ALL BEAUTIFUL! :D
