@vulstal She sounds really cool! I haven't found any other chimp fursonas, really. I've found a couple "monkeys" that look like the stereotypical brown chimp with a tail that doesn't actually look like a monkey, though.

@Cynictis I think I saw one person that had a ferret fursona, yeah. Its so odd that more species aren't used, especially something that's as beautiful as a genet. There's so much design potential there! (says the boy with a plain chimp with no distinctive markings xD)

@Lesley Birds are so beautiful! I love ravens, crows are super cute too, we have tons of crows here. The sounds of crows cawing has become comforting, really. Australian Shepherds would make great characters, they can have so many markings and they're beautiful dogs! Your raven sounds like quite the character x3

@RARARARARARARARA Bats are cute, a shark would be really cool too, there's so many species to choose from and they can look so different! What kindof shark might you make? o: They're so cute.

I have kind of a primate sona! They're a beast that's a loose combination of baboon and alligator. My other two main sonas are.. Equally uncommon I guess but they fit me very well! Slothbug is a sloth bear (clever) and Pelimo is an Atlantic brown pelican (even more clever). I find some folks with bear or bird sonas but I don't think I've found anyone with the exact species as mine, which isn't fun sometimes! Not a fursona, but I do have a black squirrel monkey character. [img]http://i.imgur.com/CMpSCXE.png[/img] I do have some other characters that are "uncommon" species, but my 'sonas are your average dog and cat... whoops. I have noticed that predator species are more popular also. I've been seeing a lot of hyenas and big cats pop up lately, hybrids as well.

@slothbug Those two are so cute! Do you have a picture of the baboon/alligator? That sound like a cool mix! One of your pictures didn't work though and it says its forbidden when I try to view the image in a new tab?

@Fetch Ahh! ;u; Your monkey character is adorable! You have a really neat style for drawing monkeys~ I do wonder why predators are so much more common, that's an interesting pattern?

i dont have any recent art of him, but i made a chinchilla fursona a couple months back that i quite liked

im not really into the furry community (though it seems creative and neat), but i see some people with a dutch angel dragon fursona. i love the design of them

@kageyamas Chinchillas are adorable! I'm not super into furry stuff either tbh, I just wish there were more primates so I could have a wider variety of artists to watch xD;

i dont have one right now but my last one was a jerboa/kangaroo rat (it kinda....changed a lot)

@feelingchimpy Oh! I didn't draw her, my friend did, here's her FA though! I should have mentioned that originally. But thank you, your sona is cute as well! I love seeing ape and monkeys around, even though I don't see 'em very often. ;w;

I'm not too sure why they are either! I suppose it's easier to find more artists/people who draw less common breeds when you find that niche in the community. I see more prey breeds now than I did a year ago just because of the people I follow, but even then, it's easier to find canine and feline artists than anything else.

I had a kangaroo sona for a while. Now its a dragon because the markings and design worked out a lot better.

As for people scared of monkeys, my fear is because of how intelligent they are paired with strength. SPECIALLY caged primates. They have nothing but time and never enough stimulation. Not that I blame the ones that do snap and attack. I've met a few owners of monkeys and they say anyone who has owned a monkey and says they have never been bitten is lying. Not mauled, bitten. IDK thats my reasoning, at least it is a little better than 'they look ugly' I hate that excuse. I love my pet snakes and hate it when someone says they hate them because they are ugly. At least have a better reasoning for it. =/

I guess if I saw a wild monkey I wouldn't fear them nearly as much.
