Anyone else here like the Halo game series? Which one was you're favorite game? Which one did you start with? You're favorite character? Least favorite? Have you seen the trailers for Halo 5 and the Halo 2 anniversary remake? What are your thoughts on 343 industries taking over after Bungie left?

My answers: My favorite game was between Halo 2 and Halo wars. Halo 2 was somewhat different from the first and the third game. It was more... Darker than the others in my opinion, plus you got to play two different characters; The Master Chief and the Arbiter. Two sides and two different stories.

I started with the first game, Halo: Combat Evolved when it came out and I have been a longtime fan since then.

My favorite character would be the Arbiter because when you played as him in Halo 2, "The missions where the player controls the Arbiter were described as "anything but easy"(quoted from Wikipedia) Though I was disappointed that you couldn't play as him in Halo 3 unless you were playing Co-Op.

My least favorite character was 343-Guilty Spark because it was such a condescending monitor. Plus he never really cared for you(as Master Chief).

I'm really pumped for Halo 5 and The MasterChief collection coming out in November. What sucks is that I'll have to buy an Xbox One, though I highly dislike the Xbox one for multiple reasons.

Unlike a lot of the fans, I like the work that 343 has done for Halo, though I was sad to see that Bungie was no longer making the Halo games.

Yooooooo, I was a huuuuuge Halo nerd for most of my high school days and some of my college ones. I actually got into it because I started watching Red Vs. Blue, and then I ended up buying and playing Halo: Combat Evolved. I have many fond summer memories of playing that game. Trying to do tricks with the Ghost. Replaying the Tank level over and over. Cursing out my Legendary playthroughs. Good times :'D

Of course, I got into the series in between Halo 2 and Halo 3, so the hype for the series was at its highest. I really got into the extended lore too: got my hands on every single book I could find. I even co-wrote a ridiculously long extended universe fanfic with my best friend (and when I say ridiculously long, I mean RIDICULOUSLY long: if it were printed out on standard paper with Arial 10 pt font, it would span over 1000 pages. Yeah).
Unfortunately I kinda fell out with the series shortly before Halo 4. Granted, I've played Halo 4, but... I dunno, I went into it having low expectations and unfortunately I felt like those expectations were met. I'm sure that's just me though: I didn't keep up with any of the new lore coming out after Reach, so I probably missed out on a lot :'D Ah well. The other games still have a fond place in my heart.

Speaking of fondness! My favorite games would probably have to be a tie between Halo 2 and Halo Reach. Halo 2 is my favorite for, well, basically the same reasons you listed, and Halo Reach is my favorite because it really defied my expectations. When I heard that Noble 6 was going to be a "Play Character" of sorts I kinda went "Oh great, this is going to turn into another 'UR THE CHOSEN ONE!!11 SO SPESHUL' deal isn't it?" just because the idea of having a customizable character in the Halo-Universe seemed kinda silly to me. But as I played it I quickly realized that the story wasn't about Noble 6 so much as it was about Noble Team as a whole. I won't go into anymore than that, but I'll just say that thinking about that game brings up a lot of emotions for me xD

And auuugh, I have too many favorites... Well, you know how I feel about Noble Team, but I feel like I should give special mention to Jorge-052 (it always struck me as funny that the way he pronounces "Ma'am" sounds an awful lot like "Mum"). As for the main series, I too like Thel 'Vadam/The Arbiter for many of the same reasons you listed, although I grew especially fond of him during the events of Halo 3. Aaaand shout-out to Vergil for being the squishier, less annoying version of Guiltyspark (the whole 'Not-talking' thing probably did him a lot of favors).

@Merethic I'm a fan of RvB, but my brother is a way bigger fan than I am, he even got to meet a few of the Rooster Teeth cast at last years RTX.

I've always wanted to read the books, though I could never get my hands on them. Halo 4 was kinda...meh the first time I played it. Though the second time I played it, I actually really enjoyed it because I had read from the terminals(from Halo 3) about the Librarian, medicant-Bias and the Didact and I felt like I understood Halo 4 more. Though I was really disappointed that the Arbiter wasn't in it and that Johnson and Miranda Keys had died in Halo 3.

Thel is pretty awesome (Like Ripa from Halo wars) and Virgil was so adorable from ODST, when I first saw him, I thought he was like a flood thing, but I realized he was an engineer.

Not sure if it counts but I've read the books. It was a while ago so I don't recall much, but I loved them to pieces. I remember the ending to The Ghosts of Onyx almost made me cry. That quite a feat.

@DoctorK the books count! I've heard about the Ghosts of Onyx, would you recommend it? Or should I start with a different book?
