I'm just going to Copy>Paste what I posted over on the Wind Flight Board.
I was disappointed. First of all, how does an anime made in 2014 look less fluid, less energetic and portray less animation then the original made in 1990s? I mean, just look at these comparisons (specifically the way Usagi walks away).

Original: Fluid Movement and Energetic Atmosphere

Remake: Static Movement and more colorful yet somehow duller
These two side by side REALLY demonstrate how the remake is extremely less energetic:

I appreciate they're trying to make this more serious by removing all the overreactions and the chibi shots but replace them with emotion? Like, MOVE USAGI'S FACE A LITTLE. Sheesh.
Some of the decisions to drop some storylines (like the Luna introduction) would have been forgiven had they filled that emptiness with some actual character development or new plots but apparently no? I mean, seriously, how long did that first shot last with the planets? I was expecting some audio overlay of background but... NOPE. It was nothing but filler.
The animation is so lazy. Compare this to ANY Key or Bones production (or any other anime company, really) and it's sorely lacking. The backgrounds are empty and make the animation seem like a ghost town. At least in the original it was carrying some energy so you didn't notice the lack of background. Here I was just waiting for something to happen and it didn't.
Speaking of things that should have happened but didn't... Where was the soundtrack? There were spots where it just felt like a soundtrack SHOULD have been there but wasn't. A great example is the scene where Usagi falls down the stairs. There's this awkward silence. No quirky music? No funny sound effects? Nothing?
I appreciated the restyling of Mamoru. I'm not sure if I can pinpoint exactly why I do but his eyes seem to give him a little more life. The original looked like he was in pain all the time.

Although I find is kind of ironic that they made him look younger and her look older. Usagi looks the same age as Mamoru. What 14 year old looks like Usagi?! Mamoru looks 19, though.
(Overall, I like what they did with Mamoru. They gave him less of an angry edge, which I always thought was out of place in the original. This gives him more of a light hearted nice guy with a secret that matches his Tuxedo Mask Persona. The original just had grumpy cat Mamoru and then SPAZ BALL Tuxedo Mask and it made no sense. So, they did this ONE thing right. Good on them.)
The most frustrating bit of all, though, was the HORRIBLE TRANSFORMATION SEQUENCE. The original animation was gorgeous. And the remake decides to use CGI?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! And it's not even good CGI like Fire Emblem: Awakening. No, it's terrible, clunky, ugly looking CGI.
I found where they used all their budget:
FIGHT ANIMATIONS

I'm all for rebooting a show to make it more like the manga and make the animation look gorgeous (CARDCAPTOR SAKURA REBOOT PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF KERO) but this seems just pointless. It didn't add anything new. If anything, it REMOVED what the original had. I'm going to continue to watch to see what happens but right now, i'm disappointed.
