I noticed in a players signature, a link to Mycena Cave. I clicked it and it looked pretty interesting. The art is cute. Does anyone else here play it and can give me more info? Let me know! :)

@Firethroat
Well it's a heavily forum based community with emphasis on art and roleplaying with the pets you can get on there. Most users create characters to rp with for them. Custom pets are really encouraged and pretty common if you poke around the forums. The mods, admins, and artists are all really wonderful people (many of which I've know for a looooong while haha). The community itself is great as well! We're all really chatty and happy to see newbies. c:
There are a few on-site games that help you generate the in-game money. There's Cave In which is sort of like a matching/Tetris game. Sort of. There's fishing which lets you click on some squares 10 times for freebies if you're lucky, there's a game called Echolocation which utilizes "sound waves" and matching, as well as good guessing and inference skills, and there's another game called Mushroom Meals but it's in play-test mode so it doesn't quite count.
There's a pet coloration release system in which a new coloration comes out each month with the previous month's being retired. They are in the Out of the Shadows monthly shop for the duration of said month, and the coloration also has two items that cycle in and out with it, usually having to do with the coloration's theme.
As for pets, there are Inekis (which can resemble, foxes, cats, or dogs) and Drasilis (which are dragons). Inekis are the ones released in the Out of the Shadows shop while Drasilis are usually event colorations you can get via raffles or other site-wide events (like the Halloween and Spring events).
I absolutely love it there. :) I love the community and the focus on writing and art. Everyone is super awesome, too, and there's so many great users who do contests, raffles, and giveaways as well. The site-wide events are super fun and the admins do their best to make sure everyone is having a good time (seriously, they ROCK).
I feel like I'm not explaining all of this very well, but there's a Mycena wiki if you want better wording and a deeper look into everything.

Edit: Also, as for breeding: breeding is usually only used as a prize in raffles or events. The breedings are not common and can result in one to two babies (I don't think three is a thing, buuuuut I could be wrong.) that are second generation. Their coloration is completely up to the artist that draws them as each baby has a special, unique one.
Edit 2: Oh my gosh word wall. I am SO sorry. ;o; I just got really excited because Mycena really means a lot to me.

@Toothless
All true. :D
Also we tend to have an older crowd so you might see swearing and any thread that has mature content, you'll see a warning in the title. I think the average age is around college age. Could be wrong on it.
Since it's a small site, it's hard to become lost and you'll become familiar with the regulars. I post there a lot, but under a different name. Chibi Envy Chan. :D I love the small community feel of it. So many people helping each other to achieve their goals. You can anonymously gift people :3
Most players there are literate and chatspeak is used sparingly. XD Maybe LOL or OMG, but not the entire sentence. :X

Currently, there isn't a friending system, but it's pretty easy to keep track of one another since it's much smaller than FR. :)
