TOPIC | [Tool] Hibernal Den Quest Tracker
This thread is no longer being maintained by myself. Please head here to find a current version of this tracker.

When I'm trying to complete a goal - like opening all the slots in my Hibernal Den - which requires the collection of certain items, I like to have a tracker (like the Familiar Tracker I created - see below). And this particular HibDen one was SUPER useful when I was unlocking all my spots.

It was originally created by Skrymer, but I recently noticed that their thread has been closed. So I asked, and they generously said that I was free to start a new thread so that the sheet could still be accessible.

So, without further ado - here is the most comprehensive Den Items Tracker I've seen!

Reasons I like this tracker so much:
  1. It gives me one place to go to see all the required items for opening Hibden spaces
  2. It allows me to plan ahead - the number of times I converted food only to discover shortly afterwards that I needed it for the Den!!
  3. By including the location of where the item is to be found, I don't then have to figure out how to get the item.
  4. Using Ctrl F (Find) and the Filters make it easy to find what I need, and keep the data organised
  5. The 6 Gathering tabs help target gathering items by showing which elements to select, and what level you need to be to get them
  6. The Coliseum tab not only tells you which venues will drop each item if you are after something specific, but also how many items each venue has that you require, in case you're looking to do some general farming and want to be efficient about it.

How to use the Hibernal Den tasks spreadsheet:
  • First, you should make a copy of this file for yourself (File -> Make a copy).
  • In the Main sheet, you should correct the "Unlocked" column according to you have already completed.
  • In the Main sheet, you can also write down how many items you have for the trade in the "Owned" column. This makes it easier to track your progress.
  • In "Hunting", "Fishing", "Insect Catching", "Foraging", "Digging", and "Scavenging", write down your respective gathering level in the red cell (and keep it up to date). With this, you know if you can gather the needed items.
  • And that's it, you're set! Now each sheet will tell you which is the best zone/venue to farm for your items, based on your level and progress. Just gather/grind in the zone/venue with the highest/greenest number at the top of the table.

Additional information:
  • In every sheet, the "ID" column is used to sort items in the same order that they appear in your hoard. You can then choose to sort the tables by ID, or by name.
  • In every gathering sheet, the "Level" column shows the minimum level to get a given item.
  • In the gathering and coliseum sheets, the name of the items you want will be bolded (once you input your gathering levels). This makes it easier visually to check if you should keep or toss something
  • In the Main sheet, once you have enough items to complete a quest, the quest name will be highlighted. If you can actually complete that quest (based on the four you have available), the quest name will be even more highlighted. Once you have finished that quest, click on "Unlocked" for each items, and the lines will be greyed-out.
  • Tip: if an item can be obtained from gathering AND the Coliseum, you are more likely to get it by gathering. It's probably a rare drop in the Coliseum anyway.

Generic 'How to Update After New Tasks Have Been Added' guide:
  • Make sure your copy of the sheet is unfiltered. Assuming you've either downloaded it since June 2021, or updated it since then, your columns H and I should be IDO (was once Quest ID) and IDNew. Ensure both are unhidden.
  • Sort your sheet by IDNew and copy the numbers from there into the IDO column (if you haven't already) so that they match.
  • Insert x number of rows above the last item showing now (that way any formulas auto update with the new range (they won't if you just add more data to the end).
  • Check the Master sheet is ordered by IDO, so that the new tasks are grouped at the end.
  • Copy the x rows for the new Quests and Paste -> Values Only into the empty rows of your sheet.
  • This should mean that you have all the new quests, without losing the data you already had. You can now sort by IDO. Copy the IDNew column, then Paste -> Values Only into the IDO column. Hide - not delete - IDNew, if you wish. (See *Note below).

* There are formulas in the other tabs that are dependant on how many columns are in the main tab. Since we'll have to go through this updating process periodically, it's simplest for you to just hide the IDNew column in between updates so that it's there for next time, without messing up those formulas.

Updates to the rest of the tabs will be dependant on what new tasks have been added, but there is no reason that any of these tabs can't simply be copied fresh from the Master sheet instead of fiddling around with adding new lines in.

Let me know if you find any errors or have any troubles and I will fix/help out.

Pinglist:

Again, I very much doubt anyone is gonna care, but if people want to be notified about any changes, let me know and I'll create a ping list.

Note: I've transferred the pinglist to the spreadsheet as I find it easier to manage there.

Shameless Plug:

So you like trackers? I did do one myself that I admit to being pretty pleased with - for Familiars. Here's the thread:

Updates:

To be honest, they don't seem to be changing/adding to the Hibden requirements (which is good!), but I'm always open to feedback, and if that leads to design/data changes I'll update the spreadsheet and summarise changes here.

2 March 2021: So, they've finally added some new quests! Full details, with instructions for updating, here. Includes
  • 25 new Quests
  • Some tweaking of Quest names
  • Additions to the Coliseum tab

18 June 2021: (Finall) added the Sandswept Delta quests. Full details here
  • 4 new Quests, 11 new Items
  • Additions to Coliseum tab
  • Decision to keep IDO and IDNew columns
  • Amendment of 'Needed' forumla in Coli and Gathering tabs to incorporate above extra column

Note - Changelog now transferred to the actual spreadsheet
