TOPIC | [Guide] Coliseum Drop Frequencies
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
With graphs and charts! I had a bad cold this week and couldn't do much, so I decided to record some data for coliseum farmers. This isn't a leveling/training guide; there are other fantastic guides on the forums for that. This guide is to help you choose where to focus your time when farming.

The tl;dr version
There's a lot of data in these posts. If you don't want to slog through it, here are my conclusions.
 • If you are farming for seafood, fight in the Kelp Beds or Crystal Pools.
 • If you are farming for plants, fight in the Mire or Bamboo Falls.
 • If you are farming for meat, fight in the Harpy's Roost or Arena.
 • If you are farming for insects, fight in the Crystal Pools or Rainsong Jungle.
 • If you are farming for materials, fight in stage that has the drops you need.
 • If you are farming for treasure, fight in the Rainsong Jungle or Crystal Pools.
 • If you are farming for battle stones, fight in the Arena.

The Setup:
I ran each of the 16 coliseum stages 100 times, and carefully recorded the drops from each round. That's 1600 rounds of fighting, and 5081 lines in my spreadsheet.

I used a team of two level 25 physical fighters (Scratch/Eliminate) with a third trainee. On the final dungeons, I swapped the trainee for a level 25 buff/healing mage, to speed up the process.

Disclaimers:
100 rounds is a decent sample size to draw conclusions about common drops, like food. It's not really large enough to measure drop rates for uncommon drops, like battle stones or familiars. I may do a larger sample for just those items in the future.

The Raw Data:
I've uploaded my raw data to Google Drive, so you can make your own Pivot Tables. Go forth and enjoy the spreadsheet!

Overall Drops How do the overall drops break down between the stages? Let's take a look! These data show the distribution of various drops, by type. As a reminder, these data are total drops over 100 rounds per stage (1600 rounds total) As you can see, once you get out of the first few stages, the total number of drops is actually fairly consistent from stage to stage. No matter where you are, you collect a decent amount of stuff. (I recorded data for all the stagee except the Training Fields during a festival week, so the number of "other" drops is slightly higher than normal.) Here are those data as table. Treasure What if you are just in this for the cold, hard cash? You can make a lot of money just farming items and selling them. Here is the average treasure/turn you can make if you sell everything you collect straight from your hoard for the base sell value. (You can get better prices at the auction house, but those prices fluctuate too much for me to graph them.) This also undervalues chests, which have a sell value of 0. These numbers are the average amount of treasure per round: Familiars have a very high sell value and drop infrequently, so the number of familiars I happened to collect might be biasing that chart. Here's the same chart with familiar excluded: Basically, the higher the stage, the more money you are likely to make. However, for plain treasure farming, I recommend Rainsong Jungle. Why? It has a fairly high profit, 196.30 per round, and you can kill all the enemies with just a level 25 dragon with Eliminate. That means that you can clear a lot of rounds per hour! The higher-level stages will be much slower. *Edit* Maki did some testing in rounds per minute and found that Crystal Pools has the highest profit rate, about 62k per hour, versus about 58k per hour for Rainsong Jungle, using 133 STR dragons. If you have a strong team, Crystal Pools is a good bet. Here were my totals:

Training Fields - 30.75 treasure/round
Woodland Path - 81.19 treasure/round
Scorched Forest - 91.96 treasure/round
Sandswept Delta - 108.57 treasure/round
Forgotten Cave - 105.75 treasure/round
Bamboo Falls - 162.02 treasure/round
Waterway - 173.77 treasure/round
Arena - 165.13 treasure/round
Rainsong Jungle - 196.3 treasure/round
Boreal Wood - 158.94 treasure/round
Crystal Pools - 235.78 treasure/round
Harpy's Roost - 164.71 treasure/round
Ghostlight Ruins - 307.95 treasure/round
Mire - 247.38 treasure/round
Golem Workshop - 241.17 treasure/round
Kelp Beds - 198.58 treasure/round
If you can't see the image or it isn't loading, you can always grab the raw data and all the charts from the spreadsheet.

 • Training Fields - 30.75 treasure/round
 • Woodland Path - 81.19 treasure/round
 • Scorched Forest - 91.96 treasure/round
 • Sandswept Delta - 108.57 treasure/round
 • Forgotten Cave - 105.75 treasure/round
 • Bamboo Falls - 162.02 treasure/round
 • Waterway - 173.77 treasure/round
 • Arena - 165.13 treasure/round
 • Rainsong Jungle - 196.3 treasure/round
 • Boreal Wood - 158.94 treasure/round
 • Crystal Pools - 235.78 treasure/round
 • Harpy's Roost - 164.71 treasure/round
 • Ghostlight Ruins - 307.95 treasure/round
 • Mire - 247.38 treasure/round
 • Golem Workshop - 241.17 treasure/round
 • Kelp Beds - 198.58 treasure/round

Familiars Familiars are rare enough that my sample size (100 rounds per stage) was probably not good enough for a clear picture. Here's what I found, though. @Roenok
Interesting, thank you.

I would like to give the farming and selling from hoard method a go but I wouldn't know how to separate those items from the 55ish pages of everything else I have in there. Maybe....I just need to clean everything out...but what if Swipp or Baldwin needs it in the future? Bit of a dilemma.

Also say each battle earn you 300T, if you get really good, how fast is each battle or how many can you do in 10min/an hour etc?

@teatree

I actually don't know how many rounds you can do per hour. Because I was stopping after each round to record the drops, my progress was very slow. Next time I am farming, I'll try timing myself.

When I am selling things, I check against this awesome guide and vault any Swipp items.

Timed myself! Using two level 25 dragons with eliminate, I was able to clear 90 rounds of Rainsong Jungle in 20 minutes. That would be about 53k treasure/hour, probably about 70k if I took the time to auction off anything really valuable.

That said, it was boring. I recommend podcasts if you are farming!
