so far i've had better luck with mimic mobs in the arena than anywhere. i switched to the scorched forest just out of curiosity, and then to waterway, and though my playtime was brief, i know i've fought more mimics in the same number of battles in the arena than in either of those. and i'm in the kelp beds now--six or so battles, and no mimics yet. i don't know if the mob appearance is based on level, but arena's definitely the perfect balance of having them show up often and drop chests frequently.

i'm seconding the 9/10 ratio of chest drops that @shinykari mentioned, because that's been my experience as well, with the not-drops being mostly in all-mimic mobs. though, again, that's been with the ectoplasmimes in arena. i've yet to encounter a jawlocker.

@Carraway Are you still updating this? If so, could you possibly ping me when the encounter rate data is up?

Here's some from me, from 100 battles per venue:
Woodland Path - 25 Mimics, 16 chests
Arena - 61 Mimics, 46 chests
Kelp Beds - 80 Mimics, 80 chests

@nika I just got out from class for the month, so I'll be able to work on this!
All in all, the drop rate gets bigger the higher the level of the mimic/venue you're fighting, so I'd say it's mostly a 8-9 out of 10 for the Jawlockers and a 7 for Ectoplasmimes, with about really, 45% in my opinion for Snarling Mimics!

Yeah, the chest drop rates definitely get higher with level - in my experience it's more like 10/10 for the Jawlockers - see my numbers above. But I'd like to see how often the mimics show up in different venues, since that impacts the overall chance of getting a chest, and the admins weren't clear on whether that goes up with level as well. And it's also important to see how much the chances go up by, since it takes me about twice as long to finish a Kelp Beds battle as an Arena battle, so it's only worth going to the Kelp Beds if the chance of a chest is more than twice as good... (Also I just love having detailed data on things. XD )

@nika I'd say chest appearances, for me, since I've really only gotten to farm the coli in Scorched Woods and Waterway, it sounds a lot more common in Waterway / Arena than for Woodland Path/Scorched Woods, so I'm not too sure about Kelp Beds/Golem Workshop... Waterway/Arena is the best midpoint if one's got a mid-level team, I'd say.

@Carraway I have multiple level 25 teams, but I think the Arena may still be the best place, since I can one-shot Eliminate things there, while in the level25 areas each enemy takes at least two shots, so battles take longer to finish.
