Items drop a different rates and from different monsters. There is not a way to get specific items to drop (I tend to notice that items that you get at the end of each fight come from the monster you defeat first, but not all the time). Specific items drop from each type of monster. As you grind in the coliseum you will notice what drops from each monster.
Items like eggs can be more rare to get.
