@fleurise-

Saw a lot of people mention the coliseum but I don’t know if anyone mentioned that you should check all of your flight specific forums and see if they have any level 25 initiatives. You can find those at the bottom of the left row in the forums page- yours should say Arcane Forums, Arcane Sales, and Arcane Dominance. Flight specific forums tend to move slowly but a lot of flights will have programs dedicated to setting you up with a level 25 dragon, and sometimes an entire team, for free. They’re immensely useful as a first time player and trying to level your own dragons from 1-25 without a trainer will be painful and slow

Also, people won’t see that you’ve responded to them unless you ping their username by putting an @ in front of it

Hello there,

What everyone else has said so far I also definitely agree with in terms of its usefulness. For me, my advice is that it is ok to not like something in the game. There is so much to do that if you don't particularly enjoy one way of playing the game, there's so many other things you can do. You can enjoy dressing up, you can enjoy writing lore, you can enjoy dom, the list goes on.

The other advice I have is that it's ok to take breaks. It can be really easy to burn out from the game due to how overwhelming it may potentially be. If the game is no longer fun you can always come back later.

On a more specific note, there's almost always a person who is willing to help on practically anything if you know where to look. There's programs to help with dom, fodder etc. within a flight. There are people who are willing to help with writing lore, dressing dragons and scrying. There's people willing to give advice etc.

Welcome to Flight Rising! Haha I remember being new and not knowing what the heck I was doing- it wasn't until like two years later did I think of joining my flight's discord server and from there I was able to really enjoy this site.

I haven't seen people talk about Familiars here. You've probably already noticed that you can bond with a familiar once a day for a small amount of treasure- I made the mistake of thinking this is not significant and refused to due it. Actually! Familiars are a great way to get items, gems, and treasure! Each time you "rank up" their bond, they give you a chest corresponding to the level. To speed up bonding, you can also split screen and have a dragon on one half, and the switch familiars for that dragon on the other- when you bond- you can switch the familiar before pressing 'close' and the site will automatically update. (I'm bad at explaining but hopefully you understand).

So stocking up on familiars is not only a great way to earn a lil extra, but also really good for hibden tasks. Don't ignore your hibden tasks! You're going to need to complete those. The hibden is a lifesaver when you start getting too many dragons for your lair to hold!

i'd say that as a newbie, when you don't have a lot of lair space, it's probably better to be a little picky with the dragons you get. do you really want that random fodder floor hatchling you saw on the AH? do you have any ideas what to do about it?

Hey welcome to Flight Rising! :D

I've been checking everyone's responses to this thread and everyone has said everything that I wanted to say lol

But I'll still list some things that I personally found to be useful (this may be a little redundant since I bet at least 1 person has already mentioned each thing on this list)
  • Glimmer & Gloom is AMAZING for getting treasure!!! It can be quite confusing at first but once you understand it, it becomes a quick way of obtaining treasure. This is the guide I used to learn Glimmer & Gloom I follow the second method in that guide for solving Hard mode! Maxing out the 75k treasure everyday is ideal, but don't feel guilty if you aren't able to do so everyday. Honestly I only play Glimmer & Gloom like once or twice a week lol
  • So many folks will talk about how Coliseum is the money maker. Yes, Coliseum is huge part of Flight Rising, but what if I told you that I HATE COLISEUM and never touch it? Yup, you can survive just fine without Coliseum! If a hib den slot requires an item from coliseum, then you can always buy it off the auction house.
  • When you go into hoard, you know how there's a bunch of tabs like "food, materials, apparel, familiars, etc"? Right on the left side of the "food" tab is a magnifying glass button. Pressing it gives you a search function and a bunch of filters!!! You can set the "used in features" to "none" and safely convert food points or sell items without worrying if it's hib den item or alchemy recipe or etc! (i really wished i knew this when i first started
  • Buying an apparel slot on a dragon unlocks that apparel slot for all dragons
  • There is a Raffles and giveaways forum where there are SO MANY FREE DRAGONS!!!!! There's also like 2 or 3 threads in the dragon trading forum that give out free dragons (I'm assuming they were created before the giveaway forum was made)
  • Very helpful BBcode guide! I extremely recommend reading if you aren't already familiar with BBcode
  • And if you want some free bio resources this thread has a crazy amount of links (and if you see something you like in my signature/bio, clicking on it should bring you to its original source! ^^)

I've personally found that Flight Rising is a very slow progression game, so please take your time! It's alright not to understand everything right away :D

Hope you have tons of fun :)
