How would you best describe your theme as a whole for your permanent dragons? Do you have any particular aesthetics or patterns you tend to follow? What drives your decision in selecting dragons? Is it completely random? Fandragons? Visual aesthetics?

Feel free to describe what you look in dragons and what kind of lair you are trying to build overall! Even if it is just "aesthetics I like", I'd be interested in hearing what kind of things you find yourself drawn to!

For me:

My lair and hibden both house permanent dragons, and everyone are divided into subsections based on the type of region I imagine them residing in. I plan to do a revamp at some point for this system, but the basic idea will remain. I then assign all dragons according to which location aesthetic they fit the best.

Some of my priority goals with aesthetics and their divisions are:
Fire, Gemstones, Space, Abyss, Swamp, Eldritch, Arid lands, Ruins, Weather, Darkness, Flowers and growth in dead things, Skulls, Lights, Chains, Beasts, Gothic, Different nature biomes

M-pose Ridgebacks. Gotta have all the spikes.

Any dragons I will keep permanently must be an unbred G1 that look good as an M Ridge. The only exceptions are a few Ancients that simply had the right vibe.

I have them roughly divided between two lair tabs: neutral and colorful (colorful tab also has the Ancients and some WIPs)

i want to be the most boring lair on this site, though im sure someone out there is repping a law firm or something and absolutely has me beat. jokes aside, i like muted and neutral colors and my color choice for bothe dragons and apparel reflect that. of course every dragon can use magic but that's not the defining feature of their designs, they can just use magic to do normal tasks and focus on occupations and hobbies that anyone on earth could do.

I have volcanoes and nuclear themes! You may see lots of fire-like dragons and bright greens around here. Also have a small theme for purple/blue shades, my shadowy demons. Most of my lair are OC fandragons also so another additional aesthetic.

I never look for any dragon that doesn't fit in my themes. Sometimes i collect a pretty g1 just to hide it in my den.

Oh man, that’s a great question. I don’t think I stick to any one aesthetic, I’m very all over the place! That being said, I think I have kind of a magitech vibe?

I am very, well, nature themed! it's mostly just aesthetic based... I'm drawn most to browns, especially deep warm browns, and greens! I also love neutral tones, especially beige-y and creamy colors. anything nice n earthy makes me go [emoji=skydancer love size=1] though I also have a soft spot for black/dark toned/kinda edgy dragons, [i]and[/i] very vibrant babies too! but I sort them into different tabs for the illusion of organization and consistency, lol

I always wanted to become a mono lair and am in the middle of working towards it. With all the Aether I have right now, and the tendency to a certain pair of genes I can proudly say

At least until we get Wasp/Bee for this kinda insectoid dragon species. No, seriously, why isn't that a thing already?

I feel like I'm the odd one out since my lair is ..... well just dragons I enjoy haha [emoji=special eyes size=1] Also, I don't have 'permanent' dragons (with the exception of my level 25's) - I [i][b]DID[/b][/i] have permanent ones years ago, but after a few years being on this site, it got boring having the same faces in my lair all the time. Plus with the sheer amount of breeds and genes now; why not perpetually collect dragons with the aim that they don't stay forever? :P Variety is the spice of life right? ^^ [i](jokes I just have issues with impulse buying and this is how I justify it) [/i] So i'm gonna go with; everchanging? Slow moving conveyor belt? Variety? Unsorted Chaos? (don't look in my Hib Den unless you like variety XDD)[b][/b] (It does keep this site interesting for me though, so I'm happy in my little nest of chaos)
