SO. My fried liked angler and butterfly the best out of scries so... Now I need it. Bring on the tips!
I'm stupid and bought a G1 I planned to tun into a veilspun. Then, I realized veils were a gem MP breed. Any tips for getting gems? I almost never spend them and I can't bear to part with half my vault so I'm trying to sell on AH with gems.

Just grind fairgrounds while partially losing your mind, then convert those earnings to gems in the Items for Sale forum topic. Or sell items for gems on AH, I do that too.

Oof, that's tough! I too sometimes forget which breeds are from the gem Marketplace [emoji=imperial deadpan size=1]
Also I'm fairly new and couldn't figure out how people got gems other than buying, until recently. Maybe you've seen some, but there are a lot of threads in Items For Sale that search for nesting/melting services and pay in gems! You can also buy treasure for gems at a general price of 1 gem to 1,000 treasure in the same forum
Other than that? Selling Baldwin mats, unhatched eggs, maybe G1s if you're extremely lucky and have hatched something worth (XXY, XYY, etc).

It's the slow way, but mostly just bonding through familiars and getting gems from their chests. Selling dragon hatchlings for gems on the AH is another good, casual-friendly one.
More effort intensive options include grinding out coli and selling fodder to public buys the pushing flight has, alongside selling the drops you get. If you're any good at art, skincents and general commissions are another good way to get "the big bucks" without spending.

I usually go for selling miscellaneous junk on the AH and sending in dragons to public buys.

If you have a 2-fodder trainer, train fodder dragons you buy for 6-7kt to level 6 or 7 and send it to the Water flight's Out-of-Flight raffle. With enough train and sent you'll have enough to trade the treasure for gems in the Items for Sale forum and buy the Veil scroll.
It can be time consuming and a grind so I recommend doing it while you watch something.

sell things for gems!
- Baldwin crafts (genes, apparel, notn stuff)
- extra fest items/skins
- eggs if you have any left over from notn
- food: for items that aren't used in other site activities, sell stacks of 99 for gems. if they are used for other things (e.g., hibden, Swipp), sell in reasonable-sized bundles (e.g. if hibden requires 15 of the item, sell stacks of 15)
water fest is coming soon which should be a good moneymaking opportunity. grind coli, get extra slinks/auras, and sell them post-event for stonks

Grind coli, especially for other people. If you’re grinding for yourself entirely for profit, go for venues with expensive boss drops and apparel (I personally get a lot of income from yeti drops and get exp for leveling at the same time)

Because I do fodder exalts a lot, I wind up with a lot of swipp and baldwin food and materials and trinkets. Everything I list on the AH I list for gems. It's not quick, but it does add up over time. Most things sell for one or two gems (unless you get something rare by luck) but if you have 50+ auctions up at any one time (this is my threshold, I must have at least 50), it trickles in. I usually sell 5 or 6 every couple of days. Patience is the hardest part.
