Out of curiosity, I used Dragon Search to pull up numbers for non-exalted dragons with particular colors, and made a spreadsheet to arrange them from most common to least. Obviously the original 67 colors have an advantage here, since progenitors are still limited to those colors. But a definite pattern emerged with both the most and least popular shades, and the same ones kept turning up at the bottom of the list.

It's interesting, but it's also kinda sad. Yeah, those colors are hard to work with, but that just makes it an interesting challenge. I think I'll search for dergs in these colors next time I hit AH.

Personally, my least favorite colors are Sapphire, Mantis and Seafoam. I actually quite like most colors on these lists... hm.

Interesting how the brighter Yellow, Pumpkin, and Mantis turned up for the Primary, but not the secondary or tertiary.
I'm surprised Cinnamon and Caramel are so low, too. Cinnamon is a perfect "fox red" and Caramel has some neat accents.

Yeah basically greens and natural colors aren't popular, which if your a gen 1 collector explains why nicely coordinated dragons in those colors end up as fodder price babies. More for me I guess lol

Yeah, bright colors are more favored in the secondary list. Probably because dragons with darker/duller bodies and brightly colored wings are pretty common. The tertiary list favors light colors, so dark dull shades are at the bottom.
Cinnamon is REALLY pretty. A lot of these colors are. I've got gorgeous dragons in honey, chartreuse, crocodile... Like, not criticizing anyone's tastes, I myself prefer blues and I admit it, I just see a lot of unused potential here.

More dragons for those of us who really lean into the Earth aesthetic. Daeodon here makes Taupe look good.
