This is more or less why I disregard "canon" sizes for my own lair, I think they're pretty cool on their own but the size difference between classified small and large breeds are WAY too big for me to feasibly write them together, so I just downsized the scale a bit, and changed some size ranges around. (As an example, instead of being one of the smallest breeds, Spirals can grow to be longer than Imps in my lore!)

My guardian Cara and her charge/mate Bazmot. Good lord she is more than three times their length O.O. Not as bad as other pairs here, though :P

thats why i picture them as similar sizes instead of the imperial / fae thing

I definitely disregard canon sizes in my lore, while they're goofy to look at it makes little to no sense logistically how these breeds can comingle.
And then there's the case of the veilspuns who look very very weird. To me they read as massive dragons but canon size they're tiny.

My 2 demon guys who are very much enemies but work together within my clan to protect it from the shade. Canonically, Orobas is around the same size as Arioch and they're both just massive because they're demons.
