Map update is finally here and oh man. They actually gave us an idea of where Tidelord went... I had almost given up hope. [map x=2402 y=2095 view=submerged width=480 height=240]Northwest Sea Caves[/map] [url=https://flightrising.com/main.php?p=view&tab=userpage&id=4][img]https://i.imgur.com/HvncOWi.png[/img] [img]https://i.imgur.com/4HiNWrN.png[/img][/url] I’m sure we’ve all noticed already, but those newly-seen underwater caverns towards the northwest of the SOTC bear a striking resemblance to Tidelord’s new icon since the BOTE update. His icon was changed at his disappearance to a very dim picture of some submerged stalactites & bubbles, which was... unhelpful to finding him these past few years. But, this new map has a location which matches the imagery perfectly! [img]https://i.imgur.com/HFSKHbV.gif[/img] It’s almost certain that this new area is related to his silence towards the rest of the flight since BOTE. We know that his usual means of communication- prophecy bubbles- have changed their trajectory since the the change in sea currents resulting from global wind changes (thanks Windsinger). The BOTE water story explains that the prophecy bubbles used to flow to the southeast, and rose up into sea caves underneath the Shoredeep Presage. However, a change in water movement now carries these bubbles elsewhere. The likely destination for them now is the underwater caverns near the north shore, bordering shadow/ plague territories (where else would be better for hiding secrets?). Perhaps it is as simple as the bubbles changing course, or maybe the Tidelord himself has relocated to these caves... but either way they are likely key to this years-long mystery. Hopefully we’ll see some future update regarding this soon!

Whoa, that's a really nice find! There's a lot of plot brewing with this new map, that's for sure.

Could someone maybe explain what exactly happened to the tidelord? I joined after it happened and am very confused....

The admins keep dropping hints and commenting on different map-related posts, so honestly I'm getting really hyped for some stuff to go down

@bookperson A lot of the new map areas (and this post) reference a site lore event that occurred in spring 2018- [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/ann/2392505#post_2392505]Bounty of the Elements[/url]! This was an update that added a lot of new lore and depth to Flight Rising's world, and many of the locations discussed in BOTE have now been added to the new map. The event also teased the upcoming ancient breeds, like the Gaolers! BOTE had individual elemental stories written each day, with one short story per flight ([url=https://flightrising.com/main.php?p=wiki&article=105]compiled together here[/url]). Water flight's story, '[url=https://flightrising.com/main.php?p=wiki&article=100]Hear Today, Gone Tomorrow[/url]', really changed how water clans interacted with our lore- go ahead and give it a read if you'd like!
