TOPIC | Dragon type and its diet
After looking at all of my Tundra dragons (and I have quite a few!), I noticed all of them only eat plants. I don't really think this could be a coincidence..
While on that topic, I was looking at the other breeds of dragon that I have more than one of - Guardians and Nocturnes.
All of my Guardians were omnivorous (diet was meat, seafood, plants, and insects). All of my Nocturnes' diets were meat and insects.
Does dragon type contribute to the diet it has, or am I just experiencing a strange coincidence?

Dragon breed determines the diet. You can see all the dragon breeds' diets in their entries in the encyclopedia. :)

Food type consumed is completely dependent upon species. It actually ties into their lore a little bit, if you read the encyclopedia entries, as mentioned above.

Adding onto that, the dragon tooltip that pops up whenever you hover over a dragon (mobile users might have a bit of trouble with this though) will tell you what their diet is.

Said tooltip will also tell you the order the dragon will eat in. Snappers, for example, will eat plants and then seafood, in that order. So, if you have both plant and seafood points, the snappers will eat plants first. If, however, you run out of plant points, the snappers will then start eating seafood. It's pretty neat.

I love pings! Don't be afraid to ping me; I tend to miss a lot of replies, even if they're right after my own post, so please, please ping if you want me to see!

To further add to the point, the order of eating depends on the dragon breed, then the order they are in your lair.

For example, in a mixed lair with imperials (omnivorous with seafood as the first choice), ridgebacks (seafood only) and coatls (seafood only). The imperials got to eat first, even if you put them on the back of your lair. Which leads to a big seafood consumption and nothing else.
