Lore reasons, fandragons, all that. I saw a BB8 perma-baby snapper, which would not work well the dragon was an adult.

Lore, cuteness, aesthetic- especially if you're a Gen1 Hoarder, in which case an extra 350g is pretty much nothing compared to all the other genes you end up slapping dragons with. It's not for everyone and that's completely understandable, but...
