...the poor dragon/beastclan guy who has to deal with that. Being followed everywhere you go, urged to wear protective footwear, moisturize and protect from fungus. That, or you're kidnapped and kept in a lair somewhere.

some guardian's charge is a single grain of sand on a random beach
they spend ages stealing all the sand from it desperately searching for that specific grain
they end up being punished for vandalizing the beach

If the guardian is in tune with magic they could sense the magic that the hatchlings have, there for if they are aware that something is there that could make them imprint their charge there.
