Dragons in my clan stay there because they think it's a nice place to live, since they can do whatever they do best and are accepted for that and nothing else is required. Some have been born in the clan, some have come from afar; they are all quite independent but all do their part to preserve the clan since they consider it as a big family. At least, most of them do.

The bare bones lore for nearly all my dragons is that they wandered in from somewhere and got too lazy to leave.

It's a quiet island with easy access to lots of places in the Plateau. Maybe the dragon wants to work, or they know someone in the island that they want to live with, or there's simply nowhere else to go nearby where they'll be accepted for their mistakes/issues.

A lot of my dragons stay because they were looking for someplace to stay and the clan's nice. Some stay because they've opened up shops, some because they've found mates or are raising hatchlings, and some stay because they've got nowhere else to go.

My dragons came to the bustling port town of Tarrier for any sort of reason, whether they be traders, on the lam, hoping for a good life in a smaller, more homey town, or even coming with the intention to join the clan. Then, they discover the clan or any of its affiliates, and decide to join. They protect the town, and help keep the Darkspine locked away.

The Ingenium are characters that have been sent to sorienth and given a dragon counterpart. They can't leave until they've achieved their (currently unknown) purpose, so they've settled down with the clan and basically become a separate but equal branch to them.

The Half Moon Family is a gang that runs a (mostly) clean casino business. They adopt orphaned dragons into their family and are (again, mostly) positively affiliated with the main clan.

The Tomato Gang, funny as their name might be, actually are dragon spirits infused into plants and given form. They protect the Darkspine and keep anyone from awakening the evils within, similarly to the clan. But otherwise they are a completely separate entity to the clan and rarely interact with them in political and social matter.s

My progen is a runaway. He and a friend started performing for cash. Right now we're all just a band of runaways that somehow turned into a travelling circus.

The territory my clan owns is vast and one of the best in Dragonhome - lots of food, safe space to dwell, rich gem deposits, magic ley lines, etc. Naturally, quite a few dragons want to live there. Some of them unite into the main clan, others are content with staying outsiders, just occasionally communicating with the main clan. Thus, our clan is very diverse.

My dragons are all in my clan because they're members of a secretive coven in the Hewn City. Their research is very medically-inclined, so some dragons are there to heal (like my progens) and others are there to be healed (like the Pearlcatcher who lost her memory.)

Of course, there are a few exceptions, like my Ice rep (adopted child of my progens), my Lightning rep (came to my clan on assignment), and a certain dragon who's heard of an ancient artifact the coven guards and wants to use it to wreak havoc.

hi!
Most of the dragons in my clan are on their way to somewhere else and just using the inn as a resting point. The permas either work at the inn or use it as a place to conduct their own business. So they're customer service, janitors, merchants, scholars, contsruction workers, security, entertainers...
