Sorry to be a bother but it seems I'm totally useless at names unless it's a flight/theme I'm somewhat familiar with

@Eriferret - What about Arenaria? It's "sandstone" in Italian, and it sounds super pretty c:

Citrine could work! Topaz and Jasper are also crystals that can be yellow. There's also sulfur, but that tends to be yellow and green rather than yellow and black.
Or if you don't want a mineral name, other earthy names that come to mind are Dune, Talus, Arkose, Strata... and maybe more, but that's all that's coming to me rn

@Thylacinidae Arenaria is so pretty! I might file that one away for later myself. Actually, your username is super cool too. Nice! :P
Hmm. The stripes from cherub and the wiggles in peregrine remind me of striations in different layers of rock and sediment. What about Strata?

@Eriferret Whenever I get something that looks like sandstone I name it after a type of sandstone. Lots of different layers in lots of different places. Around here there's Chinle and Kayenta and I think those are both beautiful names. (Actually there are like 20 but those are the best female names I could find)
