Upon release from the Pillar, the Earthshaker looked upon his domain and saw how barren the plains looked. Filled with only browns, blacks, and reds, he thought the world needed some color. Using his magical energies, he created a stone made of bright greens. Then, in order to spread this new color throughout the land, he shaped a dragon out of the stone and brought it to life. He gave it the mission of spreading beauty through his territory, and thus the Malachite Dragon was born.
Malachite dragons love all things they deem beautiful, and tend to hoard pretty trinkets. Some of their favorite items are decorative plants, jewelry, and seashells. Because they were created with beauty in mind, they are not particularly good fighters and are actually quite fragile.

These dragons walk the rocky cliffs that line Dragonhome’s tenuous border with the Viridian Labyrinth. On their hides they bear the fruit of windborne seeds and salty sea air, their porous skin a perfect harbor for life. Although Mossrocks are not known to be the fastest Earth dragons, their patience knows no bounds as they try to nurture what little plant growth they find--whether it’s on their skin or in the ground. Of their origin little is known--whether they were once dragons blessed by the Gladekeeper, or part of Earthshaker’s attempt to breathe life back into Dragonhome’s soil. There is some speculation that perhaps they were once lifted from the earth at the root of Flamecaller’s volcanoes, and that explains their porous hides. However they came to be, it is certain that Mossrock dragons are some of the best gardeners and green-thumbs in the flight, and their presence in certain clans’ dens has been known to signal prosperity and plenty in the future.

The beauty of Geode dragons has become recognized and coveted across Sornieth, but most dragons lack the deep ancestral connection required to undergo petrification. Never mind the amount of time it takes for the process to occur naturally!
Scientists of the Arcane Flight have discovered a way to synthetically produce a Geode-like appearance via a combination of Earth and Arcane magic. No one can quite explain what this process entails, but those who have undergone it voluntarily report satisfactory results, aside from an uncomfortable hardening and fading of the hide that can occur in some dragons.
Since the inception of what is now known as Project Opalescent Geode, rumors have flown that dozens of dragons traveling alone between Starfall Isles and Dragonhome have gone missing. While scientists associated with the project offer their condolences, they're quick to deny any involvement.

His body slumped to the ground as he fell into a state of meditation many mistakenly interpreted as sorrow and lethargy. He knew he had to conserve his energy for the age ahead. While boulders solidified into his skin, He contemplated how the Earthkin (his boulders and pebbles) could bring peace to a world filled once again with violence. unbeknownst to him, the tears he shed as he was abandoned and betrayed by those he once called friends, soaked deep into the ground and spread out in thin veins as they dispersed into the cracks within the rocks below. As they dried the tears solidified into precious metal around the nests of nearby lairs. the chemical composition of the minerals into which they flowed caused a slight property difference creating both silver and Gold minerals from the dried tears. From these Earthshaker touched nests hatched a very special type of dragon from thencefor called “The gold and silver ore veins of the earthshaker” later shortened to ore veins.
Occasionally now when a gold ore dragon visits a light or ice nest his or her offspring will be born touched by earthshaker’s tears.

Long ago a clan of Pearlcatchers grew envious of another clan that lived nearby. Their pearls shimmered and glittered most brilliantly while their own seem to be dull and nothing to look at. After much debate about how to improve the look of their own pearls, one young Pearlcatcher proposed the idea of ingesting precious gems or metals to use them as their fuel for the mucus used for the pearls they carry. More debates were had and a decision made. The very next day they all would leave to search for caves rich in minerals and gems to ingest and prettify themselves.
Now after eons of living underground the first few of the clan long forgotten return to the rest of the world. Their bodies changed to look like the ground they lived in for so long, adorned with glimmering bellies or glittering markings all over. Their pearls shining and glittering in every colour imaginable.

These dragons were drawn to the alchemical teachings of Baldwin, they studied with him, learning all he had to teach. They were there the fateful day when lightning struck Baldwin's pot and be began changing. It was then that these dragons had the brilliant idea of using the Mutagen on objects instead of dragons. If this Mutagen could create an entirely new breed of dragon, one that was never intended to exist, then what could it change mundane objects into?
The experiments they did on objects produced nothing, they were failures. So against the teachings of Baldwin, he would never allow them to put live things into his brew, they captured members of the Beastclans and used the Mutagen on them. They mutated, just as Baldwin had, but the Mutagen proved too strong for the Beastclans and they died. Baldwin eventually caught wind of it and told them to put a stop to it, immediately. Not wanting to disappoint their teacher anymore than they already had they agreed and instead experimented on themselves.
The change happened fast. While they had been patient and considerate dragons before they became easily agitated and rude. Their scales gained a dirt like texture and gold sprung up on their bodies, real gold, but unable to be removed. They had discovered an incredible alchemical formula, one that could turn dirt into gold! They also learned a lesson: Alchemy isn't magic and there is always an equal price that must be paid.

Lore
Fact: Nocturnes are introverts. They may not like long-term solitude, but their lairs are hidden away and they do feel the need to retreat there, often.
Fact: Earth dragons are community oriented. Dragonhome is inhospitable and Earthflight is small; cooperation is necessary for survival.
So what do Earth-element Nocturnes do? Well..
Fact: Survival in Dragonhome means digging down. Shade and moisture can only be found in subterranean caverns. You'd have to be stubborn and crazy to try otherwise.
Fact: Nocturnes are good at crazy. Earth dragons are great at stubborn.
Pillartop Gliders make their homes atop the cliffs of Dragonhome, soaring as high as their brethren delve deep. They harvest what scant moisture they require from the high, thin clouds over the Shattered Plain, and their vision is so sharp they can spot prey below from cloud level. They visit their earthbound flightmates often, but there's a level of mutual incomprehension of each other's lifestyles. Still, if there's anything Earth understands, it's stubborn.

Dragons across Sornieth know how difficult digging in Dragonhome can be; the cracked, dry soil and arid climate hardly make the place prospitable. However, what most dragons don’t know is that there are deep veins of precious metals--gold, silver, even platinum!-- resting just beneath the surface of our Earth flight home. At least, no one had known about them… until a fortuitous prospector sunk his pan into the sandy shore of an errant stream and discovered an egg hiding below the surface! Upon hatching, this egg produced a beautiful, rare dragon with crystalline golden scales and faceted golden wings. Although he couldn’t quite clear all the dirt from the deep cracks in the hatchling’s hide, it was clear that he had come across a beautiful (and valuable) dragon.
Since his windfall, thousands of would-be prospectors have panned the rivers in Dragonhome, and their efforts have not been unrewarded! From eggs found buried in riverbeds and desert streams have hatched some of the rarest Prospector dragons in the world. As these dragons age, they have been known to have a natural affinity for finding the veins of gold and silver in the ground, making them a must-have companion for any gold-miner.

Lore
From the farthest reaches of Greatwyrm's Breach, a peculiar subspecies has emerged: the Protolith. Small in number and taciturn by nature, the Protoliths instantly became the focus of a great deal of excitement from the academic community once news of their appearance spread. Luckily for researchers, the desire for understanding is mutual. Scholars from the Mirrorlight Promenade have managed to establish a degree of contact with them, though getting lucid answers from a Protolith can be no small frustration. This commingling has led to some outsiders to be taken on as 'students' to certain Protoliths, and while by and large the Protoliths are more interested in gathering knowledge than expanding their bloodlines, there has been a smattering of hatchlings borne into the subspecies above ground, both within their ancestral Dragonhome and the Sunbeam Ruins.
Oral tradition (the sole method of passing down information used by the subspecies) provides that today's Protoliths are the descendants of a small troupe of Snappers that had been called into the Breach's depths by the Earthshaker himself, during the earliest days of dragonkind. They were tasked with being keepers of history, from the birth of the gods to the death of ancient civilization, all the way up to the present era. These progenitors remained underground for thousands of years, endlessly wandering the labyrinths underneath Dragonhome in complete isolation from other clans. Many of the cave paintings and murals found in those primeval lairs were reportedly made by Protoliths over the course of time.
Though some individuals have chosen to end their self-imposed detachment from the outside world, their community remains overwhelmingly insular, with an untold number of Protoliths remaining hidden away in Greatwyrm's Breach. The reserved nature shared by most Protoliths doesn't do much to help them connect with outsiders-- despite their curiosity about 'modern affairs', they aren't particularly concerned with networking with others beyond the exchange of information. This, as well as the general ambiguity surrounding their return, has left them surrounded by rumors. Some think that the Protoliths are the Earthshaker's prophets, harbingers of the end times, privy to archaic and supernatural secrets about the universe. Others consider them to be nothing more than glorified bookkeepers. The Protoliths themselves have no interest in either proving or disproving such gossip, and continue their quest for knowledge of all kinds.

Some dragons hear the call of their ancestors more strongly than others, and they leave their earthly bodies behind during their first adult molting. Usually, these abandoned vessels are taken back into the environment from which they were birthed, through immolation, decomposition, petrification, or other means.
Occasionally, these dragons are recalled to their bodies to serve out a higher purpose. When the Earthshaker calls back one of his Snapper children in this way, a Geode Dragon is born.
However, even more uncommonly, a dragon of mixed lineage may hear the call of multiple ancestors. When Snappers and Coatls are strongly spiritually connected to both the Earthshaker and the Flamecaller, they seek out an active volcano and bury themselves in the ash, cooling lava, and pyroclastic flow to ascend to their exalted calling. As their bodies sleep, the heat and pressure of the volcanic atmosphere changes them, creating a metamorphic wonder. A reawakening of these special dragons from their slumber results in the birth of a beautiful Pyroclastic Geode Dragon!

Lore

Pillartop Gliders are XYY Dragons!

Lore

Lore

High above the world where the clouds dissipate into a mere stain of dust, there exists a species of dragonkind almost forgotten. Some ancient myths and legends claim they were summoned by the great Earthshaker himself to protect the now fragile debris and the magic it shelters, though only few have ever seen them for they live on top of the Pillar of the World. Living far from any semblance of Dragonhome's civilization, properly adapting to the unfamiliar conditions was very hard for them when their thoughts once and for all settled on approaching the ground.
Their scales shimmer in a velvety, silky deep shade of maroon accentuated slightly by a color that resembles that of Dragonhome. They call themselves Pillar Guards but the native dragons of Dragonhome started to call them „Royals“ due to their habit of acting noble, confident and convincing, giving off a feeling of sacredness. Thus most of the dragons did not see an issue in accepting a Royal Pillar Guard into their clan straight away. After all, Snappers love to tell stories so they were eager to gather even more lore to tell – even the smallest knowledge of it – leading to a perfect synergy between those two parties, especially since one of them claims to be in constant contact with the great Earthshaker.

The Ruins Keepers once lived in a massive city ages ago. The guards were posted throughout the city, maintaining peace, often taking their stone forms. When not in their stone form they had colourful markings that they were very proud of. The city was a Utopia to these dragon.
A massive earthquake caused the city to split and sink. During the panic of their sinking city many guards lost control and turned to stone, a defense mechanism against the panic much like what happens if they are underwater.
When the dust settled the city was gone and the guards remained dormant. This was the case until a team of archeologists stumbled upon one still intact. They carefully brought what they thought was a magnificent statue to the surface and a day later it started to move. It spoke in an ancient tongue but quickly started to adapt to simple common tongue.
The archeologists thought they had a living record but as they questioned the guard the more the guard realized what happened. The memories became too painful and they swore to no longer live in the past. They only told the archeologists that there were more. Ever since more of the statues have been brought to the surface, each avoided talking about their past but always thanked those who brought them up.
It was during this time that the Ruins Keepers, as they were dubbed, soon realized that the stone that looked to be their skin wasn't falling away. They were distressed by the fact they could not show their colours anymore, trapped in their greys and browns. They soon took to painting themselves, mimicking the patterns they once had.
Most Ruins Keepers are found to have writing on their body that glows, they claim it is their body trying to restore them, though it seems like it hasn’t happened for the vast majority. A select few have started to show cracks in the stone, as their body continues to work to restore them.

A class filled with the arcane magic that brought the pillar to fall evolved around the scattered Pillar of the World. They use the debris from the former slabs and infuse them with life again – through carving runes into it, which resemble the elemental flights. Those dragons are called Runecarvers.
Nature, Plague and Arcane Stones are the hardest to find.
Runes are exceptionally hard to make and their supplies aren’t easy to find. They are filled with pure elemental energy and some can be used in combat.
Charms and Fragments consist of simple symbols drawn on things like gems, jewelry or other objects. While not purely consisting of magical energy, the special paint made of pigments and dust from the Pillar can have a small but noticeable effect. Only worthy dragons can craft runes of the highest standard.
A freshly hatched Runecarver has to wait until adulthood, before he can start with the complicated and dangerous training. He doesn’t have to be bored though since he has to learn all the symbols, he will later need, by heart.
It's a common sight, that Runecarvers gather around the pillar and collect stones with their familiars. That's why they mostly wear satchels to put all their findings in it. Glasses aren't a rare sight either. Many Runecarvers suffer from bad eyesight due to their tiring search on the ground.
Every dragon race from any flight can be gifted with the qualification of a Runecarver.
You will find certain similarities though. They love to rub their silky hides at each other!

Rustkins live at the edge of the world, building their lairs close to sea cliffs of Dragonhome for as long as the older breathing Rustkin can remember.
Rustkins can easily be recognized by their brownish rust like scales that grow all over their body as soon as they reach dragonhood. Besides popular belief, their rust is not actual rust.
These scales will often crumble into little pieces with time and fall off making room to new ones, when Rustkins fly they leave their rust powder behind. Making their swarm either very beautiful to look at or dangerous if the wind blows all of that powder to the wrong direction.
Society:
Rustkins are drawn to metals of all kinds and love to craft various items out of it. Using their unique magic habilities to control metal to their will, alongside with more traditional techniques and tools.
They live in swarms of various sizes inside of complex underground tunnels, with elders and revered crafters as their leaders. Leaving the tunnels a few times a day to fly, find food and resources.
Their swarms are known for putting up iron traps around their territory and make rust powder clouds when the wind is blowing strong enough to keep strangers away. If they see you as a threat no questions will be asked.
Because they tend to be very suspicious of others they have very few allies that are not from their own subspecies.
Because they love minerals and metals they can work with a good way of winning their affection is to bring them such materials as gifts to start a peaceful interaction.

Unknown to many other dragons, there exists a rare breed of dragons that appears to have scales made out of pure iron and steel! They mostly live in dark, dry caves and have excellent night vision due to this fact. Trying to avoid water at all cost, it can still happen that their scales get wet from time to time. You may wonder why that is a problem: Well, being exposed to water over time leads them to developing a patina of rust on top of their scales. Having a strong dislike of this (and flowstone caves!!!) they only leave their habitat when the sun burns fierce and hot. Sunbathing is one of their favourite activities – it makes their lives more bearable when the rust gradually disappears while exposed to sunlight – until the rain season starts again and the cycle starts anew. Rusty pebbles is what these funny dragons call themselves!

Dragons of the Rutile Hematite species have a long, intertwined history with both the Lightweaver and Earthshaker. These dragons would be revered guardians and healers, their positions among themselves varying based on their breed and separating them into the two factions that would protect each Deity. These factions would correspond with each other for both Deities, one being an Outer Chasm/Lower Ring guard and an Inner Chasm/Upper Ring guard. Dragons of the Outer and Inner Chasms would be found protecting the Earthshaker, while their kin of the Lower and Upper Rings would protect the Lightweaver.
Dragons of this subspecies who chose to follow the Earthshaker would be found within the GreatWyrm's Breach, which became the residence of the Outer Chasm guards, and the Pillar of the World, where the Inner Chasm guards would be as they protected the Earthshaker. Others, who chose to follow the Lightweaver, would live within the various floors of the Beacon of the Radiant Eye. Lower Ring guards would be found within the first two floors of the Beacon, while Upper Ring guards would be on the floors just below the Lightweaver herself.
While these dragons would protect different Deities, they would function in a very similar way. The lighter and more agile dragons (Coatls, Mirrors, Nocturnes, Spirals, and Tundras) would hold their post within the Outer Chasm and Lower Ring, fending off any attacks as the first wall of defense. Dragons within the Inner Chasm and Upper Ring would be stronger and heftier (Imperials, Guardians, Ridgebacks, Snappers, and Wildclaws), but much harder to defeat than their more light-weight counterparts. The only dragons that would be seen in any of the four groups would be dragons known for healing (Faes, Pearlcatchers, and Skydancers), these dragons would have a much higher magical capacity than their more strength oriented brethren.
Dragons from this subspecies disappeared after the tower shattered. Folklore stated they had as a breed decided to self-exile for their perceived failure to prevent the catastrophe. Their descendants have only begun to reappear hundreds of years later long after their ancestors reign and deeds had been forgotten, compelled to seek to protect those who cannot protect themselves, bring justice, and uphold honor. When asked where they have come from they will not answer.

Lore

Lore

Tertiary Colors: Metals - Flaxen
Lore

Breed: Veilspuns
Flight: Any
Primary Gene: Sphinxmoth
Secondary Gene: Vivid
Tertiary Gene: Flecks
Primary Color: Stone
Secondary Color: Beige - Taupe
Tertiary Color: Sable - Umber
Lore

Lore

“Sandsharks are proud and agressive dragons who live in the Shattered Plains, they wander often alone or in small groups in order to hunt and steal.
Their skin is rough like the soil of the plains itself and these dragons are able to bury their massive bodies into the sand for stalking or hiding, some say they can even “swim” on it (which is true but just a few were able to see this and survive). When you see the tip of their spines coming out it’s too late. Bigger dragons can even catch flying beasts by coming out of dunes like sharks on the sea.
They’re so connected to the soil and sand that they can read the vibrations on the earth and know if someone is coming, if there are tunnels beneath them or if there are items buried, just by touching the ground (what makes them great stalkers and scavengers).”
Society
“These dragons have their own tongue and ways. They value only the strong and the smart. Magic is looked down by them, a proper Sandshark uses only their body to survive, no tricks or spells (these are for the weaklings!)
Tundras are often shamans in their society, since they’re born with magic it is expected that they will live as healers at the border of the territory, never taking part of the group’s meetings or decisions. Being called only when their skills are necessary.
Coliseum and Dominance is something they love and sing about, when a dragon is done training in the Gladiator Pit, they leave in search of what inspired their songs!
Weak dragons are often called “Jackals” by them, these are not strong enough to hunt or to provide for the clan, without a single drop of magic their role is far different from the rest. Jackals are their scavengers, they eat the leftovers, clean after the rest of the group and are also the ones who lead burial rituals.
There’s only one thing greater than themselves and that is the Earthshaker, nothing is as big, massive and resilient than him, Sandsharks are loud when they revere their deity.”

Lore
Near the sorrowful Pillar of the World, right in the oldest corners of Greatwyrm’s Breach nests an ancient coatl species called “desert diamonds” guarded by the towering sandstone serpents. These two ancient species have lived side by side since the birth of their species. Sandstone serpents are bound to serve their smaller kin and protect them from harm. Even the smallest hatchlings have the natural instinct to protect these precious coatls.
Just like their smaller kin, It is a common bedtime story for young hatchlings to tell how their father, Earthshaker, once decided to give life to three beautiful gemstones. These three gemstones took the forms of three Coatls and became the first three desert diamonds. As these small Coatls were still naive and unaware of the many dangers of the world, Earthshaker then took three shattered serpents from the depths of sand, and gave them a new appearance. The serpents took a form of an imperial, a guardian and a Ridgeback. Earthshaker then told the three serpents to accompany one of the newly born diamonds, telling them to keep them away from harm and protect them, since the serpents had already lived on this harsh world and knew it’s dangers. The diamonds were now appointed with a quest to learn about the world, so that when the Earthshaker would need them, they’d be ready. Nobody can say for sure if the story is true, but at least the hatchlings seem to be eager to hear their origin story from time to time.
Sandstone serpents are loyal and fully committed to their mission. They are very honorable and knight-like in their actions, and they manage to always keep themselves calm, no matter the situation. While guarding or patrolling, they are very silent and cold, talking only when their smaller kin asks them something. However, they are very kind in person, and exceptionally loving and warm to their mate and hatchlings. This species is monogamous, and will form a lifetime lasting bond with his or hers mate. The bond for his or hers mate is so strong that if their loved one dies the other will feel it, no matter where in the world he or she is. After the mate dies, the other one will stay by his or hers side until he or she also dies and turns into sandstone like of their kind do after death.

While other dragons who roam through those dry wastelands tend to suffer from dehydration, these dragons live on for weeks without taking a sip… that gave them the name “The ones who live forever”.
The Sempervivum love to cover themselves in flower apparel, just to match the blooming plants around them.

Silverwood Fiends are a unique sort of dragon. They live, for the most part, exclusively in burrows in the deep sands below Silverwood trees. Most Silverwood Fiends are even born in these sands, and in early life all their nutrients comes from these trees. They have evolved to have a similar coloration to the trees for better camouflage against predators, and most rarely leave their earthen homes. However, their name is one earned for a reason- They've got a tendency for tunneling around, looking for unsuspecting victims to steal from. This habit has made them many-a enemy, but they know they are safe. Their father earth would never allow harm to come to them.

Sun Runners use their large, brightly-coloured wings to absorb the constant sunlight of the Shattered Plain, which fortifies them and allows them to go for long periods without physical sustenance. The amount of solar energy they have absorbed can be measured by how brightly the runes along their sides glow. They patrol the empty stretches, guiding lost dragons and Beastclan folk alike, protecting them from starvation and the elements.
Sun Runners can come from any flight and serve any deity, but their goal will always be to protect wanderers of barren lands and fulfill the Earthshaker’s desire to restore peace between the flights.

Here we have a particularly clever species of dragons that are a result of where Dragonhome and the Viridian Labyrinth meet. Their bodies have adapted to not require drinking water making them perfectly at home in the dry Earth flight territories. Yet they still need some water, much like a cactus can survive off little water.
Snaphibians however can be found near almost any freshwater source, preferring more marshy environments. They do not thrive near or in salt bodies of water so they tend to avoid the outer reaches of Sornieth’s continent when travelling. Above all else these dragons are especially drawn to the deep, wet cave systems under the Shattered Plains that host their favourite sources of dry grass and slick moss.
In general they are a very well tempered species, quick witted and able to get themselves out of a bind rather easily. Many defenses are already built into the species enabling them to flourish such as those who not have vibrant colours to warn off predators have evolved vocal cords that can produce extremely loud bellows or screams that can scare and even hurt the eardrums of any predators. The skin of a Snaphibian is also slightly moist and slippery giving them an advantage when needing to slip or squeeze out of whatever may have managed to grab hold of them in the first place. Lastly some are indeed poisonous, tasting rather awful. No lasting damage is done if they are released quickly enough.

Once in a while, a shooting star is seen from afar. They normally land on the Starfall Isles, but sometimes it happens that those stones land in Dragonhome. Some of those otherworldly rocky structures happen to become Dragons, as if the great Earthshaker himself grants them their unspoken wishes.
On shaky feet and with weak wings, they discover their new homeland and with every wish they absorb during their travels, they become stronger and stronger.
They don’t normally speak of their own volition; rather, they merely repeat wishes they hear from other dragons. On the rare occasion that one of these strange dragons does speak directly to you, it is said that it will grant you your deepest desire…”

Lore
Within the deepest caves of Dragonhome dwells a rather secretive and timid species of dragons, that only the most educated dragons may have heard of. This quite rare species is known as Spring Water Dragons. They are a mix of both Earth and Water, made by both deities to aid dragons who might get lost in the many caverns of Dragonhome, searching for gems and other treasures. They’re hide has a rippling watery pattern that compliments well their translucent glass-looking wings and a translucent belly that seems to be full of the most pristine and purest water.
This species consisting solely of Bogsneaks and Snappers is rather reserved when meeting other dragons, but they always offer their help to those in need. They usually tend to keep to themselves when asked about their lifestyle, and surely won’t share you any information of their clan’s lair. It is said that once a too trusting Spring Water Dragon clan let a few sick dragons come to rest and heal in the safety of their lair. The lair was unlike any other the outsiders had ever seen: walls and ceiling covered in shimmering gemstones, crystal clear water dripping into large pools of water where you could clearly see all the way to the bottom of the pool under the subtle lights of glowing magical crystal that were floating here and there throughout the lair. The sick dragons were blinded by greed, and immediately after they had gathered their strength back, they stole every bit of gems and treasure they could, leaving wounds so deep to the species trust it continues to this day. No Spring Water Dragon will ever lead a stranger to their lair, no matter how sick or hurt he or she would be.
They move in small packs that usually consists of family members. If you’re lucky, you might even stumble across a bigger pack consisting two or even three different families. They search food and treasures together within the caves. Only in the most desperate of situations would get them to leave the comfort and safety of their home cavern.
Probably one of the most significant thing besides their appearance is they’re unmatched ability to make crystal clear springs, no matter how barren the land is. Water is vital to any living creature, and this makes this species so important to the wanderers and cave explorers of Dragonhome.

Although many Earth flight members joke that Statue dragons are the slowest and laziest of all of Earth’s subspecies, this is actually the opposite of true! Statue dragons are actually on full alert at least 98% of their waking hours (and a good fraction of their sleeping ones as well). They make excellent guard dragons, and our modern Gargoyles were modeled after the first statue dragons--albeit with their more ferocious aspects somewhat exaggerated. However uptight a statue dragon may seem about whatever they choose to guard that particular day, you can be sure that they take the utmost care, and even love, in watching over their charges.

Lore
Dragonhome is dotted with many great caverns that have opened up in the limestone over years of erosion. The land has been hollowed out by the now extinct rivers, and the waves of the sea. Today, a great many clans call these places home.
Beneath Dragonhome are networks of aqueducts and rivers, trapped below miles of earth, the life blood of the land. Underground spring water seeps to the surface in deep caverns, it pools, forming lakes and springs. These waters are sheltered from the harsh sunlight above that would have caused it to evaporate. Where the sunlight breaks through the cave ceilings, some plant life began to grow. Fungi, and stunted species of trees that thrive in the damp and dark.
A tribe of semi-aquatic Bogsneaks, hailing from the Gladeveins in the Viridian Labyrinth, took shelter in a place such as this. They were desperate, fleeing famine and war. This clan would have been unfamiliar with how to forage for food in such a strange and arid land as Dragonhome. Their delicate amphibious skin burned away under the harsh sun of the Shattered Plains; they'd already lost many of their companions to the elements. The travelers found respite in what seemed to them a miraculous oasis. They discovered a subterranean lake in the caves, and they have never left.
The dragon's inherent nature magic caused the meager and struggling vegetation found around the lake to grow and flourish, creating a true swamp. They formed a symbiotic relationship with the land, providing a steady flow of life giving magic. Soon, a seemingly impossible forest had grown underground. It became a diverse ecosystem in which the dragons could live.
The descendants of these refugees remain there today. Their once vibrant hides have become dull and green to camouflage them in their new environment. Their aura emanates around them in a form that resembles the bioluminescent insects commonly prayed upon by local fauna. This aura acts as a lure, drawing their prey near. One of these Bogsneaks can submerge themselves in the waters of the swamp, or hide amongst the brush on the banks; and be near invisible but for the glowing apparitions of fireflies. Having been secluded in the underground wetlands for generations, they are solitary and secretive. When they do socialize, it is within their own small groups. Their unique habitat and excellent camouflage means they are rarely seen. An outsider would have to be very lucky or very patient to befriend such a creature.
Swamp Lights are so seldom seen in fact, that unsavory rumors and myths have begun to be spun about them. Dragons say that if one becomes lost underground, they should never follow the lights. The lights are tricks, meant to lure dragons further into the labyrinth of mangrove trees, further from any exit. It isn’t sunlight or starlight, but a predator waiting in the darkness to snatch up the unwary.

SANDSHARKS
Requirements
Breed: Guardian, Mirror, Ridgeback, Tundra or Obelisks.
Primary Gene: Speckle
Secondary Gene: Freckle
Tertiary Gene: Thylacine
Primary Color: Taupe - Latte
Secondary Color: Taupe - Latte
Tertiary Color: Taupe - Latte
Lore

Like the habitat of the real plant, these dragons dwell in deserts and on mountains. In areas where water is rare, they developed some kind of storage in their bellies where they live off from the water and fat-resources.
While other dragons who roam through those dry wastelands tend to suffer from dehydration, these dragons live on for weeks without taking a sip… that gave them the name “The ones who live forever”.
The Sempervivum love to cover themselves in flower apparel, just to match the blooming plants around them.

Lore

Lore
Sun Runners are dragons that have promised themselves into the Earthshaker’s service in the hopes of achieving his goal to unite the Flights and bring peace back to Sornieth.

Lore

To help survive in Dragonhome, some more subterranean dragons grow scales coated in a shiny, steel-like coating. This coating may build up in certain places if the dragon is injured, forming rock-like clusters that stick out of them. These scales are excellent for defense, and even camouflage in mines and caves.

Usually members of the Earth Flight prefer to stay near or on the ground at all times, only using their wings when absolutely necessary. Not Terragliders. Despite belonging to the Earth Flight, this subspecies is blessed with wing muscles so powerful some believe they could even combat the Wind Flight in flying prowess. Terragliders can spend up to 18 hours in the air at a time, using this as a way to find prey most other dragons miss whilst being on the ground. As they grow and start spending more time in the sky, their scales start to get stained with a soft blue, like a thin coat of paint. However, this stain is quick to wear off, running out in as little as 12 hours. But you hardly ever see a Terraglider without its stain due to the fact they spend most of their time in the air anyway. The only time you can catch a Terraglider without its stain is if it’s sick or injured and unable to fly.

Legend has it that the first Turquoise dragons were part of a clan of nomadic performers. These traveling dragons were known across the eleven realms for their bright blue-green feathers and hides, which lent a unique beauty to their aerial acrobatics and dances.
On one journey through Dragonhome, the clan was caught in a sudden rockslide and quickly buried beneath layers of rubble. Though the Earthshaker rarely interfered in the day-to-day affairs of dragons, he mourned the loss of such skilled and beloved artists so deeply that he attempted to induce in them a magical sleep, which would sustain them until rescuers could dig them out.
In time, they were found and freed, though grains of stone and sand had become permanently embedded into them. And - some say because the Earthshaker disrespected the power of his own territory - none of them ever woke.
Today, young traveling performers often come to the site of the rockslide to pay homage to their lost ancestors. Some stay long enough, sleeping among the rocks and weathering sandstorms, that their hides toughen and erode in intricate patterns similar to what was left on the bodies of those they mourn. From then on, wherever they go, the very fabric of Dragonhome travels with them.
But many never leave. On the more isolated reaches of the Shattered Plain, you can find clans of wandering Turquoise dragons who have chosen to band together and set down their lairs. From a distance, on days when the sun catches their shining hides and their music carries on the wind, they've been mistaken for the spirits of that ancient traveling clan. Still bound to Dragonhome, and still dancing.

Lore
Wildbeast dragons originate from hybrids of Light and Earth dragons in the North and East of Sornieth, where they remain most common; struck by wanderlust, the first wildbeasts were outcasts from both flights, unfit for the sedentary life of monument-builders and classical scholars.
Once formed, the first wildbeast clans initially took refuge into the Veridian Labyrinth and this is the reason most wildbeasts developed a more primal nature than their flights of origin. They tend towards an ascetic lifestyle and are a nomadic breed, living in small to medium packs and never carrying more than necessary with them.
Wildbeasts do value the pursuit of truth more than other dragons, however they do not believe this should be confined to library halls or the study of ancient ruins; wisdom comes from all paths of experience. Lorekeepers and storytelling are essential to the preservation and transmission of wildbeast knowledge.
Packs function a lot like family units, with the adults raising the young. Once hatchlings reach adulthood, they usually leave the group to form their own packs or join other dragon clans. As wildbeasts have dispersed over centuries, they can be found in other regions and in any elemental flight.
It can be a struggle for a wildbeast dragon to ignore their natural wanderlust and stay too long in the same place, so a wildbeast living in a sedentary clan and who cannot quench their thirst for exploration is best suited for an occupation that will allow them to travel around.
Typical wildbeasts are masters of the land and hunt. They also have a good knowledge of pharmacopeia for medicine and as such produce good healers and shamans. Some branches of artisanry may develop in well-established groups, the most popular being bone jewellery and tattooing.
Morphs can vary depending on regions; colouration in particular tend to be influenced by habitat, with darker specimens occuring more often within the Veridian Labyrinth, while pale wildbeast dragons most frequent in the Sunbeam Ruins and Dragonhome.

Lore
Some dragons find their calling the the desert, where they may stumble upon a hidden palace in the swirling sands. This forgotten temple of the Earthshaker serves as refuge to lost travelers and wandering souls, and the devotees who keep it will gild themselves in swirls of filigree as a sign of solidarity with the temple itself- mimicking the ornate inlays of each pillar and doorway. Should you ever find yourself approaching a palace where there should be naught but desert, count your blessings and say your thanks for the hospitality provided therein. Ungratefuls rarely continue their journey beyond this point.

These fascinating individuals are created in the depths of the earth, from eggs that have undergone great environmental forces. The result in a mineralized core, with crystals encasing their belly, embellishing their dull craggy hide. In rare cases these minerals creep up the belly, creating a 'gradient' effect.
