Jeez I'm bad at replying sometimes
@Akilles As for Arcee's design: I get the feeling that her design looked a lot better as 2D concept art, and probably didn't seem out of place next to Roche's other designs, but then translating it into a 3D model brought out a lot of awkwardness. It's probably also to do with the fact that, while she has the usual "face in a helmet" head design, hers in particular tends to leaves her chin more exposed than most, which only leads to it feeling even more out of place. As odd as she is, I'm a little sad that she's probably not gonna get a proper toy, just cause her car mode is kinda awesome.
Tbh I'd never known that "tarn" is a Scottish word for "lake," I'd only ever heard of "loch" lol. Knowing that now, I can totally get why you had the headcannon of "the tarnish accent basically the scottish accent," and tbh I think I subscribe to it now as well! It's too fun to not be a thing. And yes, both Twitch and Megs having dual-rotor alt modes is yet another thing that makes me love their dynamic.
@sadzapdos fwiw I also hadn't picked up on the fact that SS has blue eyes, which makes me feel a bit dumb lol, but in my defense he wasn't present much for the part of the show that I watched. What little I did see of him in the show felt kinda meh; it honestly feels like someone on the team was a just huge TFP SS fan and wanted to get Steve Blum back for the role. And like, I can understand that, but also, I can really only associate Steve Blum's voice with TFP SS's design; it feels weird coming from a G1-esc SS design.
I agree with you @Akilles, though, that I like the eye colors being more random, and the Autobot/Decepticon conflict being more socio-political in nature, as opposed to intrinsic differences.
On that note, I really wish that Orion/Optimus had started with yellow eyes in TF One, both as a reference to his original 80s toy, and as a way of symbolizing that he and D-16/Megs really were starting in the same place; then Orion could've gotten his blue eyes when he became Optimus, and would thus contrast with how D-16/Megs got his red eyes from allowing himself to become consumed by his anger.
@Skeptical972 Excellent Roddy!
