Lore
Skyeaters are formed from the skeletons of long-dead dragons. Soaking in the elemental energy of the land they died in, the will to return to life runs along these bones, driven perhaps by an ancient rage, longing or sorrow. Finally they rise up and drink in the sky to give themselves form, capturing stars and even galaxies to recreate the bodies they once had. They then scavenge materials to rebuild their wings, although they remain landlocked for the rest of their new lives.
Skyeaters do not retain the memories of their previous lives, nor do they necessarily have the same eyes. A Skyeater gets its “eye colour” from the pure elemental energy held in its sockets, determined by where its body was laid to rest. This energy cannot be used by the Skyeater in any way other than restraining the captured cosmos that strains to return to space. If the energy weakens or is diverted the sky will be released and the Skyeater will be return to being a pile of bones and will die.
Behaviour
Skyeaters are not emotional creatures. While they may still experience echoes of emotion left over from when they were alive, they remain largely neutral. They like instead of love, dislike rather than hate and are mildly annoyed where a living creature would be enraged. Many Skyeaters avoid large numbers of living dragons, preferring to live on the fringes of a clan and make connections with select individuals. Those that thrust themselves into the centre of draconic society tend to be more uninterested in living dragons, wishing to see how the society operates and often entirely uncaring when it comes to specific dragons.
Due to their fragile bodies and inability to use magic, Skyeaters are non-confrontational beings when it comes to living dragons and other creatures. This is partially because they can fall apart if handled too roughly, but mainly because they lack the proficiency required to make combat worthwhile. There is nothing they could gain from fighting.
When interacting with each other, however, they behave rather differently. In rare instances, Skyeaters may form a bond and act affectionately towards one another, but it is far more common for them to refuse to so much as acknowledge the existence of others of their kind. However, if there is an obvious imbalance of power the stronger Skyeater will almost always devour the weaker one, done so by absorbing the elemental energy of the other and then swallowing the sky contained in their body. This reduces the victim to a pile of bones, one which will never be able to repeat the rebirth that creates Skyeaters.
Some stronger Skyeaters may travel Sornieth searching for newly born Skyeaters to devour, while more daring ones may challenge others even when there is no clear superiority in strength. Either way, the act of consuming the sky of another Skyeater stems from an instinctual desire to collect more space. As they are unable to consume more of the sky in the way in which they were born, they choose the next best thing and prey on each other.

Requirements
Flight: Any
Eye Types: Any
Breed: Any that can exhibit the required genes
Primary Gene: Starmap
Seconday Gene: Trail, Seraph, Spinner, Alloy, Peregrine, Patchwork
Tertiary Gene: Ghost
Primary Colours: Any
Secondary Colours: Any

Apparel
As Skyeaters are mostly incorporeal, they usually only wear apparel on their wings. However, they are able to wear headgear and it is also not uncommon to see Skyeaters with odd protrusions coming from their skulls, similar in shape to antlers or roundhorns. When this warping of the skull is exhibited, the horns often take on a similar shade to the rest of the skeleton.
