I have a few dragon with familiars who are important to their Lore!

Their full story is in her bio. Essentially, her sister rescued Sharavash (sort of against his will!) and Thruda nursed him back to health. During his convalescence, they talked and eventually they became friends and he helped her to overcome her extremely low self-esteem by dying/tattooing her scales and feathers. Now they share the tattoos and dyes with other dragons in the Clan. (Yeah I came up with a whole long Lore story to explain why this ugly baby is wearing a skin and how skins/accents work in my Clan.)

These two also have connected Lore. Despite being an Arcane dragon, Eisa feels an affinity with Fire and this expressed itself as a black carapace, which eventually started to burn. (Another explanation of an ugly dragon wearing a skin, from the pre-Thruda days!) The fire sprite was attracted to her and her collection of Fire festival currency on the night that her carapace set alight and they've been together ever since. Eisa saw the arrival of the Sprite as a sign that she was favoured by the Flamecaller.

She can't speak draconic but she shares a bond with Loki and they manage to "communicate" with each other well enough for her to offer advice/guidance. Oh, and my [url=https://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=5443143]Tony Stark/Iron Man fandragon[/url] has a Livewire Grizzly called Dummy and a Monkey Wrench called You, inspired by his "helpful" robots in the films and an Electric Nymph called Friday. :) (His Golem Gauntlet is, of course, Jarvis.)

My favorite familiar lore is between my Windsong and my [item=tengu caller], who don't match at all, but I'm really impressed that multiple people in this thread have matchy or thematically appropriate familiar lore! That's really cool! I love matchy familiars and it'd be fun to have some pairs that worked visually [i]and[/i] lore-wise. Maybe someday. :D

I just noticed all of the few dragons with somewhat set familiars I have, are male Mirrors :'D Weird coincidence.
However, this guy Volande up there is the only one where I have thought about it for longer.
But honestly, he & his Ragepuff which creatively is named Sweetie are more of joke - I love them though!
Well they constantly fight even though Sweetie is of course not capable of Draconian language, though still holds very strong opinions.
Volande threatens to eat Sweetie on a regular basis but never would (he doesn't eat any bird, Sweetie doesn't allow), & in return Sweetie pecks his head when angry, so ... at any given chance.
Ultimately I'd like to involve the familiars in lore for most of my dragons though, I just haven't decided on many of them, but ideas for a bunch.
They probably mostly won't be highly involved in storyline, but I'd just like the kind of relationship dragons have with their familiars to be acknowledged.
Maybe not every dragon even likes their familiar.

i rly love familiar matching, so most of my dragons have familiars that at least match them visually, but i like it if i can line up some lore for them too :) everyone in my den & 'progenitors' lair tab has a matchy awakened familiar that they're close to in some way.

this is ginkgo, who's story is kinda similar to aina's. he got separated from his nest as a hatchling and was found by a silver kitsune, who protected him and brought him to a dryad's grove, where he was essentially raised by fairies. they still travel everywhere together.
