I've only got a few, but in my opinion, it works well when it matches one of the dragon's other colors; it can add a bit of flare without being overpowering.

I agree thylacine can be a hard Gene to work with. Here is one dragon I am working on that I like thylacine on. In general I feel like thylacine usually works with fade/blend if the colors look good together.

I put it on this girl because I felt like it blended the black and pink really well; I think she originally had Spines:
