He's best known as the brains of the clan and he dabbles in a bunch of subjects (except combat). Since he's responsible for the clan's group of scouts, he often uses his knowledge of the land to predict what's going to come of the clan, but the Scarred Wasteland is a different case. Often when scouting the wasteland he brings along a kit that's used to predict if any harmful strains of diseases [i](harmful referring to more harmful than usual)[/i] is gonna hit. Afterwards, he relays this information to the medics so they can begin brewing. Already he has a lot in his claws, as he's the only dragon who studies and cures the ailments of his clanmates. For every new sickness they catch, a new cure must be invented, so Malovat spends most of his time in his own little area combining one mix of herbs with another and seeing which mixture kills what. It's 10 times the trial and error Malovat does compared to how much he did while still living in the Sunbeam Ruins. Being raised by Cassus, she naturally gained his smarts, and later on she grew an interest for medicine, which would be useful among the clan. Cassus himself didn't know too much about medicine, so who better to teach Mira other than Malovat? To this day, Mira is still Malovat's apprentice. Her duty is to take the cures Malovat had already made in the past and modify them to fit with more recent, but similar strands of disease. (I realize these aren't really sciencey but im trying my best)

His favorite is the lacquer butterfly mask he wears to direct his flesh-eating butterflies--another profitable invention, though only for himself. Nobody else should have such a pretty toy. He was once a Tundra, but his time in the Hewn City has shifted and twisted his form and his mind. While the Tundra form was believed dead, recently a strange Imperial has arisen from the deeps and darks of the Hewn City, knowing things it should not know and saying things it should not say. And the mask is a perfect fit again...
