They have been ransacked and beaten, driven from their homes into the smallest cracks in the land, where dragon claws cannot rend. Numerous creatures of every walk and clime have banded together, seeking revenge. A nice chat over a cup of tea won't do us much good, is what I'm saying. We must placate them, through a compromise if we can, war if we must. Offer back land and pensions of dragon-made goods. Of course, we can never let our guard down. Hatchlings must be trained in the ways of war, and weapons kept sharp and hidden. The beastclans have demonstrated their capability for violence time and time again. Skirmishes are bound to break out, and we must be prepared for when they occur. Finally, we need to appoint a few select dragons, perhaps from every clan or handpicked from the most prestigious of our own, to keep things in check. "There is no one way to ease the tensions between dragonkind and the beastclans. To assume that there is is nothing short of foolish. There are no easy answers. We can resolve these disputes peacefully. We can give them the land they desire, the resources they need. We can give them away to promote peace, but would that really last? Would they be satisfied with what we have given them, or would they eventually demand more? Would they use their new territory to increase their forces, and launch a large-scale invasion? There is no way to know. The beastclans are as varied in their motives and actions as us dragons are. Of this, I am sure. To promote peace, we should offer gifts and show them the benefits of trade, protection, and freedom. Treat them like you would treat another dragon, and maybe then they will forgive. But still, we must remain vigilant; the actions of those that came before us might not be forgiven so easily. To those who want war, we show them that it is better to prosper with us, than to turn against us and die brutally."
