You could call Macaroni the matriarch of the clan, and many of her clanmates do. She's somewhat hesitant to claim that position -- she doesn't want to seem power-hungry -- but when the need arises she certainly lives up to it. She's strong, caring, level-headed, and has a strange charisma that allows her to rally her allies and to settle almost any dispute. And when charisma isn't enough to solve her problems, her sheer battle prowess is.

Revan is more second-in-command than patriarch, and likes it that way. He handles more of the administrative duties of the clan, and enjoys the power of being Macaroni's right hand. He has little to none of the charisma and presence of his mate, but in his eyes that just means more time for his medical and technological studies. His clanmates respect him well enough for his intelligent judgment calls and timely orders.

Columbine, my clan's [s]benevolent dictator and CEO[/s] Matriarch. She's smart, capable, tough, and aggressive, but 100% on your side if you're loyal to her and do what you're supposed to be doing. She'll listen to others, and if they have a better solution she'll usually implement theirs instead, but 100% of the final decision-making power rests with her. Morale is high in her clan, but so are expectations, and if you don't do your job you will 100% be booted out unless you're one of the lucky, rare few to earn her[i] love[/i]. Dragons who don't manage to earn her [i]respect [/i]get booted out almost immediately unless they're incredibly competent at their jobs.

Critter, my clan's Patriarch. A lazy, powerless figurehead and a bully, he thinks that because Columbine is his Charge that he owns her. He also thinks being Patriarch entitles him to laze about and roar orders. He is wrong on both counts, and he's going to get his butt handed to him by Columbine and be relegated to hard labor in the mines if he keeps on this path. The only reason he's in his current position is to pacify the rest of the clan; he was there at its founding and is a popular figurehead. He's starting to anger a lot of the clan, though, and when popular opinion turns against him it's down to the mines. Thin ice, this one, and he's too stupid to know it.

He's cocky, arrogant, sarcastic, vain, and rude, but also fastidious, magically capable, precise, hyper-intelligent, and loyal to a fault when he decides someone is worth his time. The only dragon he's decided is worth his time is Columbine, and she's decided he's very much worth hers too. They're both just waiting for public opinion to turn against Critter.

She wasn't matriarch at first, in fact the only reason she got the position was because she was basically thrown into it. Amelia's first mate, whose since passed, wasn't exactly fit for the position of patriarch- and upon realizing this he asked Svana to take over for him. In the end it worked out for the better though. They're more like brother and sister then mates and they both have seperate consorts but their trust in each other is unshakeable becuase the Flamecaller says so. Rezmor is the more solitary of the two despite being the first one in charge and hence very involved while Minty is constantly amused and practically eats conversations for breakfest lunch and dinner but she leaves most of the offical stuff to Rezmor.
