@Win, yep yep! xD I tried to give the top tier the most rainbow-y sounding name then I just filled in the rest. But yeah I will add emerald because that's a fantastic color (esp. iridescent), and take out Ivory. That was one I was def. skeptical about.

Naming suggestions for the tiers are very welcome~

I support ranking based on hatchling outcome as long as the range of the pair doesn't exceed a decided number of color options. I hope that makes sense.

No way to prevent flukes unless the ranges are somewhat restricted -- and even then there may always be a few duds, but that isn't too big of a deal as long as we have a decent number of contributors to our thread.

@rayn - here are the working updates so far on tiers

@colorfulcotton - I think @Revision had a great naming scheme suggested earlier in the thread. I'm going to try to apply it to the tiers below. It's based off actual scientific names for rainbows, which is the most fitting we could ever get.

Tier 1. Prismatic Rainbows: XYZ, Triple gened, good chance of all premium hatchlings (Percentages and whatnot need to be worked out)

Tier 2. Moonbows: XYZ, Triple Gened, standard rainbow colors. They can still have a fluke prismatic rainbow hatchling, but you're more likely to get the 1-offs here

Tier 3. ??? : XYZ Double gened, a mix of standard and premium colors.
* Will this include otherwise tier 1 pairs that just don't have a tertiary gene?

Tier 4. ??? : XYZ, (1) Tertiary is expressed OR (2) All Basic ; mix of premium and standard


REASONING ~
1. I think if we had a separate tier 1 and tier 2 as you originally suggest, nobody would make it to Tier 1. Very rarely do we have a carib/leaf/lemon ONLY breeding with another carib/leaf/lemon. We can suggest that tier 1 breeders make note of what guaranteed colors they can make if they can make any, but the topmost tier should have a super-high chance of triple premium xyz dragons. To me, that will mean a guaranteed premium in 1 or 2 colors, with a 1-off or 2-off in the others.

@colorfulcotton YES I agree, as to flukes, we definitely need to limit the range.
Because things like [*redacted. Please do not link to or use third party scripts that hotlink our server*THIS RANGE[/url] should not be allowed even though they may obviously yield a premium rainbow even.

The lots more pairs would make it in, right? Correct me if I am missing something. Think I am just a little confused. >_< Also I think it should be a challenge to make it into the top tier, but I agree it certainly shouldn't be near to impossible.

I don't know if we're still doing introductions because you guys seem pretty far beyond that, haha. Anyway, I'm Deidre, I love eyeburners and rainbow dragons, and my hatchery is the Arcane Magic Hatchery and it's currently a work in progress. I have tons of coatls, especially with magenta wings and bright primaries or bellies. Currently working on adding some more circuit in there too!

I love the idea of the name being the "Rainbow Hub" because it gives the idea that this will be a directory, meeting place, and shopping center for all things rainbow!

As for volunteering, if you guys still need a journalist, adoption center owner, or someone to help out Win with bookkeeping, I'm game.

If anyone wants to give me like, a general update so I don't have to go through the whole thread I'd appreciate it! I might still read through anyway, though.

I think the gist of everything so far is that we would like to become the go to hub for Rainbow X/Y/Z dergins. The work in progress tier breakdown info is on page 5-6, but I don't think it would hurt to thumb through everything since lots of good info is strewn about.

Right now (and "tomorrow", quotations because different time zones) we are working on graphics and refining a tier system with specific qualifications for each tier.

Might want to make it so that parents just need to have 25% chance.
