Much like persuasion rolls, if you have to make a roll it will oftentimes (not all the time) be determined by your choices. If you make a choice that proves to be complicated you will be asked to roll. Well, you are right. Taking the easier path takes you away from the need to roll. However, sometimes working yourself into those tighter positions allows you to get closer in order to see or hear better. What you glean from such positions might be minimal, but they can make a big difference to your decisions down the line. So don’t worry too much if you fail your roll and end up tumbling over all those boxes. There are exceptions to that, like time-regulated or highly sensitive missions where one wrong turn can lead you to a bad ending, but those will be few.
