Here are six Warriors characters I designed. Blackear has two images because I forgot he was a tabby before I exported the png. All of them are, relative to each other, to-scale (I hope).
I don't have a
toyhou.se, and I don't plan to make an account, since I don't have the necessary commitment to make a profile for all my characters. That said, I use ArtFight as my "character catalogue", and I plan on adding these guys, along with the rest of HyacinthClan, when ArtFight adds character folders (they are not important enough to just float around uncategorized).
haha i forgot "a f" stood for something and not just artfight, oops. i fixed it
I generated these guys with the
Perchance clan generator. I'm a big fan of incorporating warriors' names into their designs, so I'll be explaining by creative process a bit. I'll also mention what their genetics are. If they aren't completely genetically accurate, that's an artistic liberty. Or a mistake.
Daffodilfang
Daffodilfang is a short-haired, dilute blue/cream mackerel tortoiseshell molly with gold eyes. I imagine Daffodilfang to be quite old, so she gets eye bags, yay! The shape of her cheek and chest fur emulate the shape of daffodil petals, and the end of her tail resembles the center bit that sticks out (the corona, I believe). She also has a li'l fang.
Cedarfur
Cedarfur is a short-haired chocolate/orange/white classic calico-tabby (tabbyco?) molly with copper eyes. I shaped her fur to resemble the shape of cedar leaves. The tabby markings look like I just used a multiply layer, and I blame that on the orange stripes not being dark enough. It's okay, though, I just tell myself that this way it resembles the grooves in cedar bark.
Cedarfur is HyacinthClan's medicine cat, and she fantasizes about having a mate and kits someday. The only reason she hasn't either is because she hasn't found anyone she's connected with on a deep level yet, and she isn't in a rush to establish a long-term relationship. In my lore, medicine cats are allowed mates and kits (if there is another medicine cat to take care of the clan in the meanwhile).
Blackear
Blackear is a short-haired black mackerel tabby tom with hazel eyes. As I said before, I'd already finished his design and exported it as a png before I realized that he was a tabby. The reason he isn't black with blacker stripes is because the tabby gene (the agouti complex) causes individual fur strands to be striped. The stripe color is the cat's base color, or original color. Therefore, black cats become brown tabbies. Since his name is Blackear, I made sure to make his ears black. In both versions.
Blackear is Sootpelt's mate. He is constantly angry at the world, and is never allowed on solo or duo border patrols, due to his quick temper and tendency to attack cats outside the clan without good reason.
Sootpelt
Sootpelt is a short-haired black molly with hazel eyes. Her fur is vaguely resemblant of ash flakes, and I gave her a slightly darker black, as if she was covered in a layer of soot.
Sootpelt is Blackear's mate. She isn't angry at the world, she's just grumpy. She's quick to scold others and doesn't like complying with orders. She definitely thinks she'd make a better deputy than Mistface (who I haven't designed yet).
Crowpaw
Crowpaw is a short-haired black molly with yellow eyes. She is Blackear and Sootpelt's kit. I made her body shape similar to her mother's, since they have basically the same personality. Her legs are a slightly lighter color, just like how crows have slightly lighter legs than their feathers. I haven't assigned mentors to any apprentices, but whoever Crowpaw's mentor is, they're probably ready to declare her a warrior just to be rid of her obsolensence.
Rookpaw
Rookpaw is a short-haired black mackerel tabby tom with yellow eyes. He was originally supposed to have curly fur, but I wasn't paying attention when I made his design. In fact, I just realized this now. To be honest, I don't plan on changing this design. There will be another cat with curly fur later, but I'm very happy with Rookpaw's current design. Besides, neither of his parents have curly fur, and I'm not entirely sure how to draw curly fur. Before I designed him, I didn't realize that rooks were a different species of corvid. I'd thought it was just another name for crows or ravens. Rooks have a white patch on their face extending down to their throat, so I made sure to give Rookpaw a lighter muzzle and neck. I tried to shape his tail in a way that looked like rook tail feathers, but I couldn't figure out a way to do it without it looking strange.
Rookpaw is Crowpaw's littermate and the other kit of Blackear and Sootpelt. Unlike the rest of his family, Rookpaw is an optimist. He chooses to see the best in everyone and his circumstances, since he'd rather not spend his life unhappy after seeing how irritable everyone in his family was and how much... well, freer everyone else seemed to be.
Aaaaand that's it! I think the next few posts (that I had better remember) will be sharing the rest of HyacinthClan, in the order I design them. I will be making an allegiance list and a family tree once I'm done.
Have a nice day!
