EXTRACTING...

Defectors - Inheritable -SAFE

Defectors are dragons, often not pearlcatcher born, that have abstained from their in-born purpose to achieve unrelated goals, going on seperate paths in life. While some look down upon these dragons, they are ultimately harmless. Their minds can be changed with the right influence and exposure to their true job, but they can simply be left to their own devices as well. Defectors are often viewed as deadweight, and struggle to find good homes.

Additionally, Defectors can share personality and behavioral characteristics with Glitched Dragons.

TYPES

Each bloodline produces a seperate sub-lineage within the grand lineage. Here are documentations of typical dragon behavior within each line.

Classes rank as follows, from strongest to weakest...
(Please note: Size does not equate to strength in class!)

Elite
Formidable
Fair
Weak
Frail

DRAGON LAIR
Class: Elite
Average size: Large (Obelisk+)

Children of Dragon Lair often exude the most power among their peers. These dragons are usually as great as the dragons they reside with, absorbing their essence to shape itself. Unfortunately, children of Dragon Lair are under tight surveillance by the queen, restricted in what they can and can't do. Perhaps it might be for the best, as without strict authority, these dragons could be incredibly dangerous to Flight Rising.

As far as tasks are concerned, dragons from this line are a jack-of-all trades type. They are balanced in most lair related tasks, such as...

Managing new hatchlings - Babysitting.
Organizing dragons - Assigning dragons their living quarters and caring for them as such.
Replenishing energy/hunger - Preparing food and cooking.
Judging the coliseum eligibility of dragons - Making sure dragons are in fighting fit- polishing their armor, doing physical checks, therapy, etc.
Setting hibernation cooldowns - Ensuring dragons are not going back and forth between territories or parts of the clan's living territory constantly/Tucking dragons into bed and preparing them for rest.

NESTING GROUNDS
Class: Weak
Average size: Medium (Pearlcatcher)

Children of Nesting Grounds have but one charge- ensuring the safety of eggs and newborn dragons. While it is mostly those of Dragon Lair that raise the hatchlings, those of Nesting Grounds will make sure their eggs are well cared for so they can hatch into healthy whelps. These dragons are often weak and small, around the size of a pearlcatcher, if not already a pearlcatcher themselves. They have little magical prowess, and so they resort to manipulation and trickery to help defend the eggs.

The dragons are sly, slippery, and may always continue to surprise you. They have few tasks and influences, but still great enough to mention...

Calculating possible hatchlings - expertise in biology and statistics!
Calculating the amount of eggs that will be laid - ...lucky guess?
Calculating colors of G1 eggs - Okay, they actually are just divine creatures if they can decide this.
Calculating eye chance - They can bring forth the birth of gods with natural primal eyes.

GATHER ITEMS
Class: Fair
Average size: Medium-small (Tundra)

Children of Gather Items are experts in various resource-gathering activities. They are responsible for providing food and crafting materials for the rest of the clan. While Coliseum dragons have made their jobs less needed overall, they work great for pacifistic communities, or those on the search for treasure chests and eggs via digging and scavenging.

These dragons are often not fond of Coliseum related dragons, and may butt heads with one another. Watch them closely will you? Now, let's go over their capabilities...

Gathering turns - Dragons of this line can go out and gather for a set amount of time, usually dependant on their flight's position in dominance. The more territory and power their current clan holds, the more time they can spend out in the wilds.
Various gathering methods - By fishing, hunting, catching insects and more, these dragons are incredibly versatile and may spend as much time as you need gathering in any way, without the need to fight for it. Most of their value comes from their ability to dig up treasure, discover lone eggs, and maybe find new companions.
Perceiving more rare items - By chance, these dragons may find rarer items if their perception is up to snuff. Finding rare items can be tough, and may require several days of gathering.

CLAN PROFILE
Class: Frail
Average size: Small (Spiral/Skydancer)

Relatives to Clan Profile are few and far between, as their job is probaby the most overlooked of the bunch. Like billboards, they advertise their clan with great pride, some are even lore writers and record keepers. They are rather defenseless and incredibly small, avoiding other dragons in the lineage that are well beyond them. Their work, just like themselves, is quite miniscule in the grand scheme of things, but no less necessary.

Being rather unimpressive dragons in stature, they prove to have great intelligence...

Providing a description of the clan/lair - These dragons will often plant posts around their territory, warning other clan's of who resides there. They may offer directions to passerby, visitors, or traders too. Some may build walls around their territory, with threatening messages.
Dragon, Bestiary, and Forum post count - If allowed, these dragons will boast to others about everything that has to do with the clan. How many members they have, how many creatures they have tamed and allied with them, and just how much they get around other communities.
Join date - These dragons also keep count of when the clan was founded and how old it is currently- neat!

HOARD
Class: Formidable
Average size: Medium (Pearlcatcher)

As the name may suggest, these dragons are innately driven to collect, organize, sort, trash, and protect various trinkets and valuables. Many jobs can be applied to descendants of Hoard, and as such this family tree is one of the more diverse and colorful of the bunch. Their relationships with others tend to be neutral and cordial, though they do appreciate more recognition for their work when they feel it is warranted.

Hoardselling - Interestingly enough, Hoard dragons have little to no interactions with the various economically inclined dragons within the lineage. For many of their belongings they feel aren't worth the trouble of going into trade or auctions for, they simple drop off onto local salesmen and vendors for cheap prices.
Converting food into food points - Wherever the food comes from, whether its from gathering or coliseum, Hoard dragons will collect the food taken from their clanmates and store them safely until ready to be prepared by a descendant from another line that may be more inclined in the culinary arts.
