>>history
Ryder was once a very idealistic, happy-go-lucky dragon. Born as a tundra in the Windswept Plateau, she was happy, but felt as though something was missing. By chance she happened upon a small fae who was scribbling furiously in a notebook with odd contraptions on his wings. He seemed hesitant about her friendliness at first, but eventually accepted her offer of shelter. He had been traveling for some time, running away from his previous clan because of his disability- his inability to fly, born with wings far too tiny and weak to carry him. He wanted to be somewhere that he would be respected, not pitied. Ryder was a perfect match for his eternal anger and self consciousness. She did more than treat him with respect, she often totally forgot he had any disability at all. Through some tension, the two fell in love and eventually founded Clan Starsky, a place where anyone could come and feel loved, no matter who they are or what they are like.
Eventually, the clan decided to move, coming to settle in the Viridian Labyrinth. A small meadow with a nearby stream seemed to call out to them, and they settled in nicely. Ryder finally felt at home and comfortable. It was no surprise when she suddenly came out of her room as a coatl one day, either. Their clan grew and shrank, becoming prominent in their community and respected throughout the Labyrinth.
Then Madden died.
There had been a shade attack, nothing like the ones of old destroyed by the deities, but devastating none the less. Madden wanted to study the shade closer, wanted to find a weakness, too many had died already. He was found the next morning, lifeless. The clan buried him under the tree where he so often liked to sit, Ryder staring on blankly. Though now a coatl, she had before always maintained her friendly tundra demeanor and the excitability of Wind, but now she seemed lifeless. For weeks, she went through periods of lifeless and manic, and eventually decided on a whim to move to the lands of Arcane. She seemed better there, less unpredictable and blank, but still weighed heavily. The clan she had built up and worked so hard to care for now repaid the kindness and took care of her. The Starfall Isles, lovely as they were, didn't quite suit the clan, however, and it was decided to move back to the same meadow they had previously inhabited. Ryder was hesitant; She didn't want to return to the place where she had lost her greatest love. But it was for the good of the clan. The meadow was lovelier than ever, and the clan thrived once more. Efforts to help the Gladekeeper resumed and they spread light and life as much as they could, but Ryder was still troubled. It wasn't uncommon to find her back at the tree, staring blankly at the space where he used to lay, drawing in a small notebook whatever manner of creature he could find.
However, one day, she had been gone much longer than usual. Much, much longer. The clan started to worry, and eventually Cotton ventured out to find her, as they were all certain it was the return of the shade. What he found was shocking; Ryder was curled up tightly around a very alive looking Madden.
They returned to the clan and Ryder was again overjoyed. It was this that made her realize her clan's true potential: to be a place of healing, light, and peace. A place of acceptance for anyone and everyone.

Parfum has always been more of a mother figure for as long as she can remember. In her birth clan, most were very interested in conquest and expansion. The hatchlings weren't taken care of very well, if at all, and were exalted not for their honor but for the clan's position. Parfum showed great skill in taking care of little ones, so they allowed her to stay. She protected them and loved them all. However, her clan had made quite a few enemies, even within their own flight. Parfum was only a young adult when an alliance of various clans and beasts attacked. It was a massacre. She tried her hardest to protect the hatchlings, but was not at all made for fighting. Every single egg and hatchling was either taken or killed. She was able to escape, unsure if anyone else did and not caring to find out. For years, she wandered lost and scarred. Her wanderings brought her to the plateau when Starsky was just forming, where Madden stumbled upon her by chance. The clan's formulative values seemed perfect for a wounded dragon like her and she joined, though somewhat hesitant in case it would end like last time. Since then, she has grown to be just as respected as Ryder, though she would never want the position of leadership that the coatl has.
>>personality
Parfum is in every way a matron. There are no dragons in Starsky older than she, and she certainly acts it. Some younger dragons will get annoyed with what they see as nagging, but she truly just wants the best for everyone. She's very gentle and slow in manner and speech. True to her Arcane origins, she has a vested interest in learning, but stays far far away from any sort of offensive magic.
She has gradually grown close to Agape, and the dramatic nature of the skydancer would seem to contradict her slow calm nature but they fit together perfectly. Parfum still suffers mental wounds from her ordeal, and Agape is the only one who can calm her down and take her mind back to the present. In turn, Parfum's maternal nature has done wonders for Agape's physical health and strength. They are, however, sickeningly sweet at times.

Cotton doesn't remember much about his birth. All he remembers was the kindly Skydancers who found him and their own child, much the same age as him. He was taken in and raised as their own. Cake, the young skydancer, was every bit a brother to Cotton. Starsky was just starting out, and though small was growing, but had no dedicated defenders. When they were young, they both made a vow to protect and care for the clan who cared for them. They trained intensely; Cotton focused on physical fighting while Cake focused on Magic. Along side them joined another Spiral, Cumulus, and they three together were the defenders of the clan. When fledglings wanted to serve, they would train them as well, and would help in anyway they could.
The Shade was not effected by magic. Not the magic that a simple dragon could pull off. When the Shade attacked, the three fought valiantly. If not for them, it's said, the clan would have been destroyed. As valiant as they fought, however, there was still some loss. Cotton and Cake fought side by side, the Shade attacking without pause- and suddenly Cake was gone. Cotton doesn't remember what happened or how he found Cake, his lifeless body marked by the shade. His own body was heavily damaged, he could hardly walk, but the Shade was gone and so was Cake. In much the same way as Ryder, this broke him. He blamed himself and felt a sort of hostility towards the clan now, they all seemed to care more about Madden than his brother. Madden returned, and Cake didn't. This didn't help.
Cotton still cares for the clan, and is still very loyal to it, but has become incredibly anti-social. Very rarely does he talk, and though he's considered a part of the council, he hardly shows up. He instead stalks silently in the treetops on the outskirts of the clan, avoiding contact with the clan at all possible times.
>>personality
His appearance and general demeanor may be very intimidating, but his use of violence is far from liberal. He has a heart of gold caged in grief and anger. He much prefers action to words, to an extreme extent. It's said he says 5 words a year; though this is a hyperbole, it's not much of one. His stalking in the trees has led to him becoming almost a myth of sorts to the clan, especially to the new ones who never got to know him. He's very fond of animals and, though wary of them, pro-peace with the beastclans. If he considers you a threat, however, your days are numbered unless you flee far, far away.
Cumulus is probably his closest friend, but the happy energy of the spiral grates on him. He was the only one to mourn Cake like he did, however, so he still feels a close bond with him. It's hard not to when the spiral is constantly pestering him, in any case.

The past of Cuddlebuns is as enigmatic as the snapper himself. No one is even sure if Cuddlebuns is his real name, or where he happened to get the crown he wears constantly. It does, at least, fit the tale he tells of his kingdom and its fall, and how he is the benevolent king gone into hiding. He simply arrived one day, decided Starsky was nice, and settled himself in. Madden was wary, but Ryder was enthralled by the strange snapper, so he stayed.
Nothing seems to phase him, at all. Regardless of his actual past, he truly believes he is a king and anyone who sniggers at his odd mannerisms is promptly ignored. Puck has recently confirmed that his crown, indeed, is real and used to signify royalty from Light. Which makes it all the more confusing as he is truly from Lightning. What's more, when the shade attacked he would charge into battle alongside the warriors, vanish, then come back unharmed. No one has any idea how.

Despite any strangeness he carries, he is a well beloved member of the clan. He is very fond of making sweets and helping Parfum take care of the hatchlings, and the stories he tells are always a treat to hear in of themselves. He's incredibly kind yet boisterous and loud, often starting proclamations with 'Back in MY kingdom...'. He can be easily flummoxed, but quickly recovers by promptly switching subjects. Though he seems entirely eccentric, he is an amazing listener, and will very take personal conversations very seriously.

Agape was abandoned by his original plague clan due to his colouring, something that would stand out too much and draw too much attention in the darker wastelands. He was picked up by Starsky while they were traveling and happened upon him near dead. Because of this, he never developed quite right, becoming very sickly and weak. Often, he will be entirely down for the count. Though he couldn't be the survivalist that his birth flight would have required, Nature suits him perfectly, and the calm, peaceful pacifism of Starsky led him to discover his calling: Writing. He is never found without some sort of notebook and quill, and will write anything and everything down. Nothing of Starsky's history is lost, thanks to him, and selling his poetry has brought in a good amount of money as well.
>>personality
He's very subdued when first meeting him, but further bonding will reveal that he's incredibly dramatic. Much of it is tongue-in-cheek, but he's quite certain that every spell of illness will be the end for him. He loves writing anything, but his absolute favorite thing to write is love poems. No one is allowed to see his tome of love poems, leading some to believe it's not just love poems, but perhaps fanfiction of his clanmates. He will vehemently deny this, saying that fanfiction is a lesser form of literature. He will still refuse to let anyone see it.
The only dragon he has allowed to see his more personal works is Parfum, and the two have become sickeningly sweet. They are perfect for each other, however, she helps him physically and he helps her mentally.

Ryder stumbled upon his egg in the middle of the forest with nothing and no one nearby. It seemed quite dinged up, but the dragon inside was still alive. She carefully hatched it and out came Petal who immediately clung to Ryder. How an Earth baby came to the Plateau was beyond anyone's guess, and whatever had happened had indeed effected him. Petal is totally mute, unable to grasp the concept of words. The clan moved to the Labyrinth when he was still young, and a local witch who joined them for a time taught him how to use Nature magics. He took to them quite quickly, and learned how to use them to communicate. His association with magic only grew deeper, and now he can understand the language of the forest better than anyone in the clan, even better than those born in Nature.
He's very close to Ryder and Madden and sees them as his true parents, harboring no desire to seek out where he came from.
>>personality
He inherited Ryder's optimistic nature to the extreme, and it seems like there's nothing that can get the fae down. Even when Madden died, Petal seemed to bounce back astoundingly fast, almost to the point where it seemed as if he knew that Madden would return. His differences don't bother him in the least, some may say he doesn't even realize he's different. Petal may not be the best socially, even without his lack of speech; He doesn't quite know what boundaries are. But once you get used to his energy and childish nature, he can be quite endearing. What's more, however, is that he seems to have a strange form of luck around him always. Things always turn out in his favor, even if not in the way that is initially planned.
Enjoys pulling harmless pranks on his clan mates and has gotten quite good at them. He is often present at council meetings to commune with the forest when it's needed.

>>history
She never had a name. From the moment she was born, she never had a name or a home or a family. She mated and had children, sure, but she never knew her children. She hardly cared for her mate. Most everyone else in her clan had names and places, why didn't she? Was making children all she was good for, children she never truly knew? She was a brightly colored coatl and a generally friendly person. Why was she so... unwanted?
Her internal crisis was just that, internal. She tried her best to be as bright and happy as she could, thinking that if she made herself as likable and bright as she could be, maybe then she would be important. It never happened. Slowly her mind started to fray and her mental state became more and more bleak. She was surrounded by others but she was lonely, depressed, absolutely despondent.
Her clan moved. She stayed behind. No one ever came for her. She was used to living on her own, after all, her old clan never noticed she existed. She wandered and hunted and just survived, not really living.
A small mewl one day caught her attention. Out of a nearby bush, a small kitten stumbled out. It couldn't have been more than a month or so old. The kitten stumbled over to the coatl unafraid and snuggled into her feathers for warmth. Out of her stupor the coatl wondered where the kitten came from and why it came to her. She gently nudged it onto her back and started searching, looking everywhere for the kitten's family. When she found it, she had wished she hadn't. Something had found the small den. Somehow the kitten survived. The coatl decided then and there that if she could do nothing else, she would help the kitten. She gave it a game, like she never had, she named it Bush, like the bush it had come out of.
Bush and the coatl wandered, and eventually wandered into a clearing filled with dragons. She turned around to leave before she was noticed, but ran headfirst into a mass of muscle and scale. A large imperial stared down at her blankly. She tried to stutter her way out of it, but Bush jumped off of her back and rubbed against the Imperial's feet affectionately. She was certain that Bush was about to die. The imperial reached his head down, and the coatl tried to protest- but he simply nudged Bush back affectionately. Another coatl appeared next to them and smiled warmly, asking what her name was and where she came from.
She hesitated for a moment before responding.
Her name was Sunny. She came from nowhere.
The other coatl looked at her in confusion, then understanding. Sunny was welcomed to stay with the clan with Bush as long as she wanted. Right away, Sunny felt a sense of belonging and a sense of self that she never had.
Sunny has since decided to become a permanent member of Starsky, where she discovered herself and her love of animals. She now takes in any sick or wounded animals or familiars, a welcomed addition to the clan.

Pop considers himself quite a normal coatl. Nevermind the odd growths that follow you in your dreams. He was born in ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? to two loving parents who raised him with only the best intentions. Nevermind the cracking and lulling of a head that isn't quite there, unless it is, you can't really tell. He loved his family very much, but was excited to see the world, and thus left at a young age. Nevermind the swords that pierce his body, do not blink, they moved. On his quest, he found himself sadly driven away from many places, though he could never tell why. Nevermind the dark, void like feathers, they can hear you. He was perfectly kind and polite, he thought, and was truly a marvelous scavenger. Nevermind his finds melding and shifting and following and screaming.
Still, he was not one to give up, and eventually found Starsky. The sentry tried to attack him, though he had no idea why, maybe he said something wrong? He seemed a touchy fellow. Another coatl came up and saved him, though, and she smiled at him like no one had before. He smiled back and within his smile was everything past and present and future swirling into a cacophony of madness. She didn't really seem to care and led him in, asking his name. He replied his name was ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? but she could just call him Pop. He and that other coatl became closer and closer, and though she was obviously scared by something in her past, she felt so comfortable around Pop she couldn't help but fall in love. Some of the clan seemed unnerved by him, no matter how much he smiled, especially when he smiled, but their creed of accepting all was extended to him. He assists in whatever way he can, or at least, in any way he is allowed. His new mate, Sunny, often enlists his aid in caring for the animals, finding his gentle ways more than suitable for the job. The animals don't seem to mind.

Pop enjoys helping his mate, especially with small, fluffy animals. He's incredibly sweet, almost too much so, and would easily have become a doormat if not for certain things. Since joining the clan, he's found an affection for pastels and cute things and adores dressing up. He's even tried dressing up the animals, though Sunny scolds him whenever he does so. Cotton still seems particularly wary of him, but he doesn't mind. He has everything he could want in Sunny, and some other members of the clan have warmed up to him, most notably Petal, Puck and Fizz. He has learned not to smile at them.

>>history
As a more recent addition to the clan, Puck has never experienced much of what life has to offer. Her previous life was one of pseudo-royalty, very cushy and sheltered. She had been betrothed from hatchlinghood, and never once had she felt any sort of connection to her suitor. She was always assured that she would eventually, so she went with it. They were married and even had a few children who went on to serve the Gods and to other clans as diplomats from a very early age. Eventually, she came to realize she didn't belong where she was. She wanted to know more and do more and not be stuck in a stuffy castle married to some guy she didn't like in that way. She confronted her parents and her mate, who were all appalled at first. There was no reason for her to be so discontent, and how could anyone not like having children? Puck had debated simply running away, but was far too stubborn, and eventually her family came to understand her feelings. She left with a warm goodbye instead of the cold disappearance that many of her rank tend to go through. Puck went from clan to clan, her sheltered knowledge of the world and her hyperactive demeanor never quite fitting in, until she reached clan Starsky. They took her in gladly and found her willingness to learn exceeded only by her ability to do just about anything after being taught. Since then, she has become a treasured part of the clan, willing and able to help just about anywhere.
>>personality
Puck is very much a spiral in every way. She seems to have boundless energy and a penchant to have her hyperness get her in sticky situations. It suits her appearance, however, and it suits her everlasting pursuit of knowledge. Though many would discredit her from a glance, she is truly very intelligent and has a memory that would rival a snappers. Her intelligence combined with her hyperness leads to some very interesting situations, like when she asked Agape what death is. No one speaks of the aftermath of that. She is often found sniggering after making some sort of innuendo that a child would make, despite being about as asexual as could be. (Her discovery of the term is also no longer spoken of)
The Flutterbun she carries with her was a wedding present, and she loves him with all her heart. He is her son. Don't ever talk to me or my son again is very often heard. Apart from her Flutterbun (she calls him Flitwick), she's very close to Cumulus who is as eager to share information as she is to learn it. Two spirals together, especially one from wind, also leads to stories that are no longer spoken of.
