Crocodice - Thank you very much!
I just don't exactly understand how digital painting works. I'm trying to follow these tutorials on the
ctrlpaint.com and that has been helping a lot but's it's still frustrating. But I blew too much money on photoshop and this darn cintiq to give up now.
Your stuff looks awesome too, by the way! ^^

Thanks to you too =D
I guess digital painting is so hard to learn because just the basic approach can vary a ton. One of my favourite artists for example does basically everything on one layer - And thats a nighmare to other artists.
I think I've found a basic approach that works for me by mix and matching techniques I saw when I looked at how different people work. Maybe that could help you too?
Anyway, I hope you'll find an approach that works for you!

Crocodice - It's more that I'm confused on how the brushes work and how to get them to do what I want. With traditional stuff I can just pick up a brush and do whatever with it. In the digital world I first have to find the right brush and then adjust it's settings so that it does what I want and then I have to figure out how to layer everything and it just goes on and on.
It's just a matter of getting used to the programs, I think, and figuring out where everything is. But the fact that photoshop keeps messing up on me every five minutes doesn't help. :(

An older thing I drew a while ago. Unfortunately I forgot how to draw feet when I did this so he is slightly deformed.

I tried to outline this sketch in photoshop but unfortunately I am an idiot and accidentally outlined everything on one layer, and photoshop is choosing to be uncooperative and won't work right. This may remain in limbo for a while.
Not sure if I like the one on the right. I like his expression but his position is a little weird and I think his head/neck is too big for his body.
Also why does everything I draw look crooked?

So I need help deciding what I should do with this picture I'm working on.
Here's a very rough sketch. Feel free to critique it - I do think that maybe the swan looks a little "unbalanced", but I'm not going to change it at this point because I'm tired of messing around with it and just want to get it done.

I kinda want to do it in color, but another part of me wants to do it in black, white and sepia-ish tones. Kinda like this, but better because I'm going to use better paper and stuff.

I'm leaning more towards the white/black/brown, but thought that maybe I'd ask for some input first. Anyone at all here have an opinion?
....I also apologize if I can't post the finished piece because me scanner is small and the picture might not fit. :P

Unfortunately everything I draw is crooked and uneven, but these were just meant to be really quick sketches.
Snow leopards and Jaguars are kinda weird and harder to draw for me.

I've been trying to get this thing right for a while and this is the closest I've come. Curse my unsteady hand.
I swear this looks better IRL. The scanner was rather unkind, I think.

A couple creatures I doodled up. I plan on coloring them...eventually.
I'm trying to upload more but my scanner decided to be a #@$% out of the blue.
