Welcome to the Mephyst lore contest! It’s time for the next lore arc for my clan, and Mephyst is taking part in the story.
This contest is a combination of gem offer and lore (stolen shamelessly from Prayer and the other recent Naomi lore contests). Mephyst kids are normally 5kg, with this contest you can get one for as low as 3kg (or equivalent) plus lore!
- Minimum 3kg bid - This may include eggs (noct 230g/elemental 250g), treasure at 1:1000, and high value skins, fams, and fest items. Feel free to get creative with your offers!
- Lore component - Submit lore of some description, bullet points, poems, summaries, prose, just words of some kind! There are no length requirements, just get creative!
- Holds and payment plans available, DM is discuss
- Mephyst is in hibden until Halloween and no other hatchlings will be available until then
- Ends March 22 at rollover, with judging on the 23rd
Lore:
Something is happening in the Veil. Korvax was attacked, and weakened he fled to the Veil to recuperate. Left without a leader the clan turned to Mephyst, and despite her anxiety she has stepped up into the role and is doing her best.
- The Veil: The misty space between life and death. Beneath the Mansion of the Parted Veil where the clan dwells is a rip in reality that leads into an inbetween space, filled with mist and lost souls. See Korvax’s bio for the lore.
- Mephyst suffers from a curse that makes her crave red fluids (FR friendly). She is unable to step into the sun or wear silver, and this curse has been passed on to her hatchlings, despite all her attempts to cure herself.
- Mephyst found Sebastos in the tunnels under the Mansion of the Parted Veil, where the clan lives. She could sense an echo of power and when she went searching for it, she found love instead.
- Sebastos is a G2 imp. He comes from an ancient lineage and is blessed (or cursed) with prophetic abilities. He can see an enemy coming from within the Veil, and warns Mephyst that Korvax is in great danger.
- Short version of the arc: The great number of lost souls within the veil comes to a critical mass and forms into a huge energy being. Korvax attempts to do battle with it, but is too weakened. Mephyst and Sebastos pour their combined power into a nest
Hatchlings:
Female, dust/blush/robin
Oleander: In the language of flowers, oleander has the meaning of “caution”. It is a poisonous flower, with delicate five pointed pink blossoms. Like her namesake Oleander is just as deadly. With a precise, dry wit she strikes at her enemies without hesitation.
Male, smoke/red/crocodile
Foxglove: In the language of flowers, foxglove is associated with fairies, who were said to hide within their blossoms. Picking one was bad luck, as it robbed fairies of their home, a useful rumor, as the blossoms are deadly if consumed. Foxglove is a fey creature himself, forever flitting from lover to lover, from hobby to hobby. But his inconsistency in other parts of his life vanishes when he and his sisters trek into the Veil
Female, grey/coral/royal
Nightshade: Also known as Belladonna, this is one of the most toxic plants on Sorneith. The glossy black berries and delicate green leaves are alluring, but oh so deadly. So too is Nightshade. Her vanity is honed like a blade, her beauty a weapon used in service of her family.
