How it Works: As you probably know, if you breed two dragons together, the colour of each gene of their offspring depends on the colours of the parents' genes. If both parents have the same colour in their Primary gene, the offspring will all have that colour in their Primary gene. If the parents have two different colours, their offspring have a chance of being born with any colour including both parents' colours and all colours between them on the colour wheel. Based on this system, the further apart two colours are on the colour wheel, the more possibilities you get when you breed together two dragons with those colours in the same gene. Therefore, if you breed together two colours that are as far apart on the colour wheel as possible, you get the most possibilities possible for any one pair of dragons. However, there is no possible colour combination that can result in the offspring of one pair having the potential to be every single colour on the colour wheel. Every individual colour on the colour wheel has two opposite colours, one for each half of the colour wheel. I chose to use White and Radioactive/Honeydew based on what I had on hand when I started this project, but you could hypothetically do it with any colour and its two opposites. Why so many pairs? I originally started with just two pairs: XXX White & XXX Honeydew and XXX White & XXX Radioactive. However, this setup only allows for offspring to have any combination of colours from half of the colour wheel. The offspring of the White & Honeydew pair could not, for example, have the genes Yellow, Cyan, and Red, since Cyan is on the other half of the colour wheel. By increasing the number of pairs to include every single combination of XXX, XXY, XYY, XYX, YXY, etc. of Honeydew and Radioactive, I can actually achieve the potential to get any combination of colours on the colour wheel when the pairs are all bred at the same time.

How it Works:

As you probably know, if you breed two dragons together, the colour of each gene of their offspring depends on the colours of the parents' genes.
