I'm not sure what my lore plans are yet - but I've wanted a goldfish Imperial for a very long time but back when I first got the impulse, opal didn't exist and they all used gembond, a gene I have mixed feelings on. So it was a nice surprise to come across her when I impulse browsed the dragon forums!

I'm just starting to figure out this breeding thing, so it gives me confidence that you enjoy the result of my mess, lol!

I have only seen a few dragons where I liked the look of gembond, where it is nicely placed (I think on Coatis and Skydancers?) and in white. But one of my favorite dragons (here) has crackle, which is another of those less-favored genes, and in general I'm not a fan either, but the maize crackle looks a bit like gold leaf on the right base colors. Her son sometimes gives me pretty gold-leafed fae.

Regarding Koi, I first got here, I saw a dragon that was almost koi-like, with a piebald body but red wings. I missed getting her, so I decided to try to replicate her, a goal that has taken me several years and off in many directions. I gave up on the red wings and went with black piebald bodies and red-orange paint wings (I might have mixed up the names of the genes there). I got some orange koi and some black/red imperials to get the red, but was having a terrible time until I realized that orange and red were not next to each other. No wonder I kept getting so many combinations with brown! So I started over (they are currently in my den) and then I discovered the Opal Koi and went out on another breeding project before I'd figured out the first! Actually, the Opal Koi are easier and more consistent.

Anyway, I'm really glad she was there for you when you were looking.

You have so many in that stunning lair, I'm just tickled that she is among them. And she already has a bauble on her tail! (I got completely distracted looking through it. Ispani, Loris, Arcana, Rygar, and especially Relic! OMGoodness! I'm just in love with him!) I don't know what you are planing to use her for, but I know she would make pretty babies with Hauru, or if Hauru already has a mate, with Kesthul. But if you have breeding projects in the works, then I know you are always pressed for lair space. If, once she has served her purpose, it is her fate to find her way to another lair, or if she is called to serve The Shadowbinder, she will see it as an honor and serve with the fierce loyalty of her species.
