He knew it would come and he hoped it would greet him sooner rather than later. The band of Serthis he'd failed to outrun showed him no mercy and their high pitched voices were drowned out only by his screams. Their toxins were coursing through his blood now and Serthis' victory chants were beginning to fade. His head burned with fever but his legs tingled with cold. He couldn't feel them anymore and wasn't sure anything could reach them now. "It won't be long now, death dealer," a raspy voice said. It took a moment to realize the Serthis member was speaking his tongue. Like a fool, he felt a spark of hope. With great effort, Ekaitz turned to face his tormentor and white hot pain streaked through him. He moaned but managed to meet the eyes of the Serthis member who had spoken. He was darker than any Serthis member Ekaitz had ever seen. Jet black hair cascaded down his back, his eyes so dark he could hardly see the pupils. He wore blood red armor and Ekaitz didn't have to use his gift to know it was the stained with the blood of dragonkind. A smile twisted the Serthis's features, his mouth hung slightly open and his sharp fangs dripping a potent poison. His teeth, black as pitch, had been stained by the creature's own toxins. Ekaitz's lungs caught and he struggled to breathe as he watched the obsidian scaled Serthis sidle up to him. Ekaitz was larger by far but he'd never felt so defenseless. He knew the this particular species honored bravery and viewed fear with contempt but Ekaitz couldn't help the way he tensed as the Serthis member latched onto his head. He had to fight a shudder when the creature lightly caressed his stone; the source of his magic. Despite the gentle touches of this Serthis member, Ekaitz could feel its malice. He was no friend to dragons. Ekaitz's courage failed him as he trembled in earnest. He tried to speak but his words failed him and the Serthis member clasped his maw, his sharp nails digging painfully into his jaw. The smiled turned into a sneer and Ekaitz whimpered as the Serthis's grip became a vice. Ekaitz's whimper turned to screams when he felt something crack. The Serthis forced his head back and Ekaitz didn't have the strength to resist where the creature's hand was leading him. A vial was produced and Ekaitz's legs flailed. His head exploded in pain as the Serthis member further crushed his jaw in an effort to keep him still but Ekaitz fought the hold, his whole body thrashing in terror. More Serthis joined their leader, pinning Ekaitz to the ashen floor. He tried to summon even an ounce of magic but the pain was too intense and his reserves were already spent. He collapsed. Does it have to be a humanoid of a dragon or can it be a humanoid of a character, that is not human?
