I really like making gardens for my clan, I might have gone a little overboard heheh ^-^ Using the Gladebounder seeds to represent the dragon that lives in a den is fun! ^-^ My Jade fandragon's den! It's nice and neat, I tried to get it to look more cultivated than my clan's garden, since that one was supposed to be more of a wildlife garden [img]https://i.imgur.com/rsFKvrU.png[/img] I also made a quick mountaintop to try out the shatter background, I really like it ^-^ [img]https://i.imgur.com/QCCBSVm.png[/img] And one more, cause I feel a bit self conscious sharing too many at once. It's my dragon Catalina's den, she's an artist and a bit of a pack rat, so I tried to make it kind of overwhelming. (Can you find the dragon? ;P ) [img]https://i.imgur.com/XZJhphu.png[/img]

@Oranitha quick question: where do you find the codes for the rewards in the new To Do list?

So if I earn seeds at work on my browser at work, they won't show up in my collection at home, right? Unless I get the codes and put them in my seed collection spreadsheet?

@chamilet Unfortunately, yup. Syncing things across devices would require me to have a central server (and also collect information from y'all such as logins).

Not at all averse to making that process easier if I can, though! Let me know if you have ideas there (ex: a "clear all" button on the collection--with a confirm dialogue of course--so you don't need to keep track of what seeds you've already synced, just hit Backup and delete)

@Pdsd234 Aaa, never feel bad about posting gardens, I love them! It's so cool seeing the stuff people make, and the windows into their lore. Love your dragons :) I just realized you actually got the Gladebounder to match Catalina too, that's real cool.


The garden makers are kind of a maze of undocumented features (for now, hoping to address that in a future update), but if you ever want to do the dragons directly, I'm slowly adding special sprites that live off-tool for dragon breeds. No Aethers yet though I need to get back to that.

Anyways, yeah, those gardens are great!

So I'm using the Seed Collection spreadsheet to keep track of all my seeds that I get from the bingos and freebies you give out and such (since I can port that with me from browser to browser). Now that the To Do list seeds go straight into my collection, what is a good way of collecting those seed codes so that I can add it to my spreadsheet and make sure I port those as well?

I'm worried about creating a bunch of duplicates on my spreadsheet if I don't remember whether I've saved a seed before or not. Or creating a bunch of duplicates in the collection if I don't remember if I've added a seed from my spreadsheet to the collection already. Or, worst case scenario, overwriting a seed in one spot or the other if I forget to add it to the collection or spreadsheet.

@chamilet Honestly, just knowing someone's using it that way is a good reason for me to add back in the to-do seed list display...I only got rid of it to clean up the UI, not for any real technical reason, so I should be able to add it back in as an option somehow. In the meantime, you can still access the old one if it works better for you!


The one caveat is that, unlike the tasks, the display on which seeds were earned wasn't written to survive page refreshes--would that be alright?

@Oranitha As much as I love having the seed code, I love my To Do list saving itself more! I'll just create a To Do to make sure to copy over the seed codes to my spreadsheet for now. Would appreciate the seed codes being visible until the tasks are cleared, though, if that's possible! Regarding that, I think one of my seeds isn't populating my collection, the little teapot: [img]https://i.imgur.com/wXqSHTl.jpeg[/img] Organized by base, there's one with some tea or something popping out of it, but not the plain yellow one. @chamilet Gotcha! I just pushed a quickfix to the test site (link), try hovering your mouse/tapping right above the Add Task button, a list of seeds should appear. It's only updated when the seeds are claimed, so you can refresh the page to purge it once you've done your update (though of course that might also be for the worse if your browser likes refreshing on its own, let me know if that's causing more trouble than it's worth)

Oop, as for the teapot--that's the same sprite! There's a chance for any optional little bit to not appear for variety's sake. Hit the "Analyze" button, then tap the seed a few times, it should eventually draw it without the flower thing.

There IS a variant that really does have no little mini bits though if you prefer (as well as a variant with "steam", a glowing orb, a crystal, etc).



ETA: ooogh so, fun fact, the display of bases is a little weird. For ostensible performance reasons, I don't block on drawing the plants in the collection...there can be thousands in there, so we need every bit of speed we can get. So I accept the chance of stuff drawing out of order in exchange for drawing faster. This is normally completely fine, like no one really cares if seed #634 and #635 swap places, but if you order by base it becomes very obvious. Phone performance in general is something I'm targeting right now, hah. So don't be too alarmed by that. I hope to actually replace that with a better optimization way down the drawing tree.

DOUBLE ETA: To heck with it, first-pass optimizations going in TONIGHT, and collection order is now deterministic. Apologies if this hideously breaks anything on AlphaGarden. Here we go...
