Also I intend on getting him a blindfold in the near future so that it covers his eyes, if you could make the face wrap cover his eyes, I would appreciate that, it's the intended affect.

it would be working outside of the existing lineart and therefore I would be making new work for it, so yes I would have to to keep the style consistent.
Generally speaking accents that don't require changes include strictly lighting, new natural markings, etc.
