pronounced "moo-teh-sem"
turkish for magnificent, splendid, gorgeous
muhtesem came from a nearby lair in the frigid floes. her golden features caused quite a stir when she arrived. her parents, ganymede and kore, occasionally come to visit her since she isn't too far away.
like any pearlcatcher, she is very protective of her pearl. but unlike most of her kind, muhtesem will sometimes leave her pearl in a hiding place inside the lair when she ventures out. she is incredibly afraid of dropping her pearl in the snow and being unable to find it, or worse, dropping it in the water. muhtesem and lumi are working on creating a fake pearl for muhtesem to carry around on long journeys so other pearlcatchers don't think she is an outcast.
fraise is her mate, and she loves to tease him because he is so easily embarrassed around her. she also had a nest with belenus. theo and heise are the only two of her children who remained with the clan. muhtesem hopes she can have a family in the clan with fraise someday.
