Biography

The Hunter

It was a beautiful starry night. Niko was laying down on his usual spot, looking at the horizon and admiring the moonlight as it touched a corner of the Hewn City's ruins. Suddenly, he thought he saw some of the stars move. "That can't be possible", he thought to himself, "silly me, this must mean my eyes need a rest!" Distracted as he was by the pretty landscape, he remained awake, and this time he felt like a few stars had taken the shape of a dragon. "Could it be the one Khuno claims to see sometimes?"

It was, indeed, a dragon, who didn't take long to reach Niko's resting spot. Zhu had crossed the Hewn City towards the Beacon of the Radiant Eye. Despite being a skilled hunter, the eternal darkness that takes over the Hewn ruins quickly became a disadvantage for him. He was used to hunting at night, when he could move stealthily, but, without daytime to rest, his energy levels quickly dwindled. There was no safe place to sleep; Death Seekers would attack as soon as he let his guard down. By that time, he was rather tired and had multiple wounds on his body. As soon as he saw Niko, he rushed to him and asked for a place to rest at least for one day, in exchange for extra food or goodies he could obtain. Niko was very welcoming and promptly cleared a small area for him, without asking for anything in exchange, although not before mentioning it to Khuno, who kept a close eye on Zhu during his first weeks around.

He ended up fixing permanent residence on the clan, as he grew fond of hunting with Yei. They usually carry a hefty amount of food back every night, so most of the others can focus on training new helpers for the Lightweaver.
