Talulla sighed, looking out over the small chain of islands along the coast that her clan inhabited. Life had been going better then expected for the small clan of the Wind. Her offspring were eagerly training and moving onto new clans, spreading her roots across Sorienth. The process might not be going as quickly as she had hoped, but the fact that it was progressing was something to be thankful for. From the tower she looked out from, she could see the very end of her territory, and beyond that. Looking to the mainland, she wondered where the children of hers that had moved on were. ' They said they would write, but I shouldn't expect much from that promise' All of her children had inherited the free spirit of the Wind, and it was to be expected that things like this would slip their minds. A small rush of air startled Talulla, causing her to snap her head sharply to the left. An adolescent Wildclaw clad in gold appeared with the rush of wind to greet her grandmother. Bright and beaming, the only way you could possibly know that she hailed from the Tangled Wood were her deep violet eyes and mischievous demeanor. "Oh, I'm sorry Grandmother, did I startle you?" Sunlight glinted off her armor and her coy smile. "I do not think you have been sorry for startling me once since your arrival here, Valkyrie. And I thought I told you not to call me that?" The young Wildclaw laughed, and informed the matriarch of the departure of the exaltees to the Windsinger. After her message, she turned tail and flew away, no doubt off to prank another member of the clan she had found a home in. Shaking her head, Talulla gazed at her kin as she flew away. 'Well, she's no letter, but at least I know my son has found a suitable mate' She took one last look over the islands from her tower, and took flight toward the mainland. Talulla was born to a nest of dragons meant to be exalted to the Windsinger. Despite this, her mother saw a spark in her newly hatched daughters eyes that made her want to keep her. She was granted her name, and grew up in relative comfort and peace. Despite this, the young Wildclaw felt the incessant need to stir up trouble. She was constantly at the heels of some poor soul, talking their ear off with questions of where they came from, where did they learn that spell, why do you have that scar, the list goes on and on. Eventually her mother was sick of the complaints she got from the migrant population of the clan, and also from the then clan leader. Her constant shenanigans were driving away important members of the clan, and he had noticed a fall in the number of dragons passing by. Aquila solved this problem by passing her willful daughter onto the only 'warrior' of the clan. He was a loner, keeping to the outskirts of the territory, venturing inward only when he needed to visit the hoard. With him, Talulla learned discipline and, most importantly, how to fight. She was a talented young fighter, and quickly rose to be just as powerful and talented as her mentor. She had gained the power to walk the battlefield, and take on whoever was in her way. As long as it was one on one. She sought out two more dragons to fight by her side, finding them in the mighty Lorelei, and the quite and kind Vivien. With the knowledge she had gained from Gilroy, she taught her two new teammates the way of the battle, and soon they were fit to take on any enemy that stood in their way. Soon, the three dragons brought in treasure from all over Sorienth, and more dragons ventured to their territory to benefit from their wealth. It was not long until the clan had outgrown their small patch of land on the cliff side. Talulla flew out in search of a larger patch of land, but the mainland was flooded with budding clans. No area he found was properly able to be defended from the roving dragons who sought to relieve her clan of their wealth. Becoming frustrated with her lack of results, she flew over the ocean by the coastline. Soon, she came upon a string of islands in varying sizes. She landed on the largest one, and knew this was to be the new home her clan deserved. She rushed back to inform the clan leader, Calem of her discovery. With this discovery, he realized that he was no longer fit to lead the clan. Once the move was complete, he passed the title of Clan Leader to the still young Wildclaw, entrusting her with the clan's future until he was once again ready to take up the title. |
