H I S T O R Y

Sanguine came to the clan under Itzal’s rule. She was a young and brash dragon, ready to let her anger for her life's transgressions loose upon all of Sornieth. At the time, she was one of the clans best fighters, able to use her pearl to cast illusions and trick the enemy. This lasted for some time, until one particularly nasty battle that left Sanguine’s wings in ruin, and her right eye blinded.

It was after this battle Itzal relinquished the clan unto Aloryian, who took the remaining members of the clan into the Tangled Woods, renaming the flight Nox Invictus, and beginning life anew. Here, she tried to have her wings healed by many doctors, shamans, witches…nothing worked. The magic used on Sanguine’s wings had been incredibly powerful, and without mechanical aid she would never fly again. This, along with her lost sight in her right eye, caused Sanguine to spiral out of control into a depression for some time.

It was her long time friend, Aruna, who helped Sanguine see she could pursue other paths other than fighting, like she had. Aruna began to teach Sanguine the basics of healing magic, and here Sanguine felt a spark return to her soul and she began to study healing even further, becoming one of the original healers of Nox Invictus.

While out gathering some herbs for an ointment, Sanguine came across Dorian. A feeling stirred within the Pearlcatcher’s scales, and she spoke to the dragon calmly, a knowing rushing over her. Dorian would join Nox Invictus. They would be an excellent ally to the clan, she was certain of it. And so, after much talking, Sanguine brought Dorian to the clan as the first new dragon to join Nox Invictus since their move to the Shadow flight.

Sanguine continued her healing studies, enjoying the role of healer rather than life stealer as she had once been. She also began to work on her more psychic abilities, trying to hone her skills and see if she could repeat the same sort of feeling and experience she had with Dorian. Lucky for Sanguine, she did just that, and the next dragon brought into the clan was Lucifer.

Lucifer looked worse for ware, and the feeling that he belonged withing Nox Invictus was once again there. Sanguine began to realize that maybe her true calling to the clan…was to bring in the members it needed. And so Sanguine brought Lucifer into Nox Invictus.

Over the next few years she would continue to bring dragons into the clan, and during this time also found a love for writing and record keeping, as well as telling spooky stories to the hatchlings every so often. Sanguine often uses her pearl to help document important events within the clan, and also to show moving pictures when telling stories.

When Aloryian began to lose his grip and banish dragons, Sanguine feared she may be next, as she often challenged Aloryian when they had battled together many seasons ago. Just as she had begun making plans to perhaps escape, it was over just as quick as it had began. Itzal had managed to calm Aloryian, and it was then Aloryian placed the care of Nox Invictus into the claws of Makeira. Things have been peaceful ever since.

As more time passed, Sanguine began to form a near debilitating pain in her right hip, causing her to limp most days. So far, no cures have worked, and Sanguine believes whatever magic that caused her wings to become to shambled may have settled into her bones and is now wreaking havoc on the inside. Together with Aruna she has been trying to find a cure.

Still, she doesn’t let the pain stop her and still goes out to bring new dragons in, as she feels it is truly her duty to Nox Invictus. She will also help out in The Hatchling Den from time to time, as Sanguine has a soft spot for the young bloods in the clan.

Sanguine lives in a large cave underground where she has also collected her hoard of trinkets and things collected over her lifetime. There is a lot in the cave, and its getting harder and harder for Sanguine to find a place to sleep. Aruna has asked Sanguine multiple times if she would like to room with her, but Sanguine always gets too flustered to accept or deny the offer. (Aruna thinks this is adorable and does it on purpose)
