Chapter 2: The Windstone Clan - Aquarius

For many years, Aquarius ran the clan as a place for travelers to rest during their travels. The dragons expanded their caves through the Reedcleft Ascent to accomodate more travelers stopping fro the night. His small clan became a full-fledged hotel, surprisingly successful. He served as the administrator and registrar for the hotel. Sometimes, he feared he had bitten off more than he could chew.

As time came by and time went on, dragons came and went. Some clan members sought out new clans. Some moved to great cities. Some sought out the Windsinger or were invited by the Windsinger himself to be among the exalted dragons.

Iona, a good friend to Amani in her last days, Iona spent the rest of her time in the clan as a merchant and courier, working to rebuild the clan's depleted assets. When she finally decided to depart for greater cities and adventure, the clan's stores had been greater than they had ever been. The income she brought them was enough for them to engineer their clan to accommodate guests.
Willow, the green witch, decided to seek another clan. She left behind a protege green witch.
Rex, the librarian, sought larger cities with more work and more libraries.
Storm, the culinary expert, sought out the Windsinger. Rumor has it that the Windsinger reluctantly allowed Storm to help cook for exalted dragons solely because he tired of hearing Storm ask for a job.
ForestRune, Willow's protege, was invited by the Windsinger to study more green magic with other exalted dragons. She then decided to move to the Cloudsong, often travelling.

The Bamboo Bards have had the honor of performing for exalted dragons in the Cloudsong sometimes. After one performance, they were invited to remain as performers with the Windsinger. These dragons accepted the offer:
Aine, booking, ticket sales, reluctant actress, Morrigan's mate.
Morrigan, playwrite and performer.
Leprechaun, puppeteer.
Goldshard, caricature drawer.
Boadicea, fortune teller and essential spy in the fight against Ishild. Boadicea was born before Ishild's rein of terror. She was the only survivor of her nest, the rest destroyed by Ishild's cruel familiar. Boadicea worked as a spy to help the clan overthrow Ishild, and after, she became a fortune teller with the Bamboo Bards.

Aquarius's Bio - Under Construction

Aquarius was hatched from an abandoned egg given to the clan founders, Amani and Ignatius, by a friend of the clan. They raised him as their own.

Aquarius's early life was tumultuous. He was born when the clan was a place for visitors to rest before continuing on their way. He came of age when the founders' granddaughter, Ishild, took over the clan with the intention of becoming a major and tyrannical political leader in Sornieth. When she took power, he tried and failed to save his adopted parents, and his wings were permanently damaged in the process.

Eventually, he organized a revolt and overthrew Ishild and her cronies. He has since turned the clan back into what it was always meant to be: a place for travelers to rest on their journeys. He was more successful than he intended. Now the clan is a full-fledged hotel, and he now serves as the administrator and registrar. Sometimes he think he's bitten off more than he can chew.


When the winds suddenly stopped, travel ceased. No one left the clan; no one entered it. Even beastclan visitors seemed wary to keep traveling, frightened by the silent world. The visitors quickly became anxious. Aquarius and his clan spent their time reassuring their visitors and attending to their needs while pretending they were not worried. Some visitors stayed virtually for free. Others traveled on. A few helped to secure the resources the clan needed.

The month proved draining on their finances and stores, and by the time the winds returned and the last travelers continued on their way, their stores were empty. Few visitors came. Even seasoned travelers feared the winds would stop again without warning. Reluctantly, Aquarius decided to close the hotel.

Shortly after, dragons and beastclan members came flooding in. Several came from the Sea, where an incredible storm had destroyed their communities. Astonished, the clan offered their empty caves as refuge. They were followed soon after by refugees from Dragonhome and the Sunbeam Ruins. A few even came from other clans, all with the same warnings: Sornieth was no longer safe.

For now, the abandoned hotel is being run as a refuge. The clan is considering relocating to the Twisting Crescendo so it can accommodate more refugees.

Things calmed down after BotE. Initially, there was excitement when dragons started hatching with strange eyes - and when even a few adult dragons' eyes changed. Many members of the clan were frightened, but almost none saw any change.

As things calmed down, the refugees sheltering in the clan moved on. Some returned to their homes once the danger was over. Some Light Flight dragons and beast clan members returned home to fight the Emperor. Some stayed in Wind to rebuild their lives in the peaceful cliffsides or the exciting cities. Still others stayed left to travel the world. Windstone Clan members affectionately called them honorary Wind members.

Once most of the refugees left, things felt quiet, perhaps too quiet. The Windstone Clan's lair was spacious with only the clan members. They considered restarting their bed and breakfast again.

Then, disaster struck. A band of harpies commanded by Talona herself attacked the clan. The clan members fought back at first, but the harpies were stronger. The Windstone Clan fled, abandoning their second home.

The clan members don't know where they will go next. (To be continued after the next dom battle)
