Cassael

Cassael liked to pretend his life prior to joining this clan didn't happen. What was there to miss? He had been alone and unloved, drowning in his own fear and anger. He was kicked out of every lair he joined, forcibly exalted to an uncaring god and returned when he proved unsatisfactory. Harsh viciousness was all he had to show for a lifetime of loneliness. He pushed away everybody he could and disappointed the rest — he reveled in pain of solitude.
Of course, this was before Shamsiel found him. He saw in Cassael the potential for a perfect soldier — the perfect attack dog.
Perhaps if his arrogance were stronger than his need for love, Cassael wouldn't have found himself manipulated and controlled by the clan's leader. And yet, he follows orders without question, enforcing the clan's policies with tooth and claw. He operates under the command of Gadriel, and just barely subsists on the scraps of love that his mindless obedience begets. Carcass cleaner is his only friend.
